Rachel Zoe kicked off her debut on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills with a bombshell: Someone tried to set her up with new castmate Kyle Richards’ estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky.
On the Season 15 premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show, Rachel had plenty more tea to spill on the matter, too. As she further revealed, no less than three people tried to make a love connection between her and Mauricio — all within one hour — during a February 2025 event in Aspen, CO.
“We were at this music festival in this, like, big VIP area with, like, I don’t know, maybe 100 people in it,” she recalled in the above clip. “There was a couple of people … that I’d known for many, many years, that were in from New York. And they literally were like, ‘Oh my god, do you know Mau? You should go out with Mau.'”

Rachel continued, “I swear to God, 30 minutes later, someone else was like, ‘Oh, do you know Mau? He’s here. Him and Kyle are getting divorced.'”
Her response to the matchmaking attempt? “I literally was like, ‘Are you OK? No.'”Â
Regardless, Rachel described an “awkward” moment that ensued when Mauricio walked over to her. She noted that his arm was in a sling at the time, likely from his ski accident.Â
“The whole thing was so awkward,” she added. “My knee-jerk response was, like, no. Even just my relationship with Kathy…Â It was a hard no.”

The RHOBH Season 15 newcomer went on to explain how she had known Kyle socially through Kathy Hilton, hence her hesitation about dating Mauricio.
“No one who was trying to set me up was trying to do anything weird to Kyle,” Rachel insisted. “They just thought, like, single woman, single guy, you guys may know some of the same people. Or, like, you guys live a similar-type lifestyle. Or, like, I could see you guys going on a date, you know?”
Separately on the RHOBH After Show, Kyle opened up about why she wasn’t exactly fazed by Rachel’s confession about Mauricio.

“When you’re single in a small town like that, it makes sense that someone would try to set up Mau and Rachel,” Kyle explained. “I guess they figured they knew that we weren’t close friends.”
After all, that’s exactly how Kyle characterized her connection to Rachel during RHOBH‘s Dec. 4 episode: “I’ve known Rachel for many years, socially,” Kyle told a producer. “We have friends in common. I’ve seen her in Aspen. So, I know her, but I don’t know her well.”
Kyle Richards opened up about Mauricio Umansky’s dating life
Aside from her casual friendship with Rachel, Kyle also previously noted that Mauricio has been “allowed” to date whomever he chooses, since they announced their separation in October 2023. That doesn’t necessarily mean that she’s been thrilled to see PDA paparazzi photos of him and other women popping up on the web, though.
“The first time I saw a photo of Mau, it was shocking; I was taken aback,” Kyle shared in a confessional during the RHOBH Season 15 premiere. “But I’m a little desensitized now, unfortunately. Of course, he’s allowed to do what he wants, and I know he’s not doing that to hurt me. I just wish that he would be a little more discreet.”
As she elaborated on the After Show, “It feels strange to see the person that I was married to for so long with another woman, you know, in photos. … But in my mind, I’m like, I don’t even know that person, you know? That’s a different Mau.”
