A California woman and her lover allegedly carried out the fatal stabbing of her husband, authorities said.
Police accuse the beau, Samim Azizi, 31, of jumping out of bushes in a mask and killing the victim, Parwiz Assar, 51, and then Razma Mohammad-Ibrahim, 35, allegedly acted like she discovered the body, and rushed to neighbors to tell them to call 911, according to documents obtained by The Mercury News.
Both are in custody facing a murder charge out of Alameda County in Northern California.
Cops in the city of Hayward say Assar and Mohammad-Ibrahim had been married for about 12 years and were having marital problems. The wife met Azizi in December 2022 and started an affair. Eventually, the wife and lover allegedly decided they wanted Assar out of the picture to end the marriage and for Mohammad-Ibrahim to get full custody of the children and the family assets.
Police claim to have uncovered the plot. For instance, the defendants allegedly met at a Motel 6 before the murder, according to the Mercury News.
The day before the killing, Azizi texted the wife that the knife he got for the act was “strong,” authorities said.
On the day of the incident, Mohammad-Ibrahim allegedly posted the Selena Gomez song “Single Soon” to Instagram.
Azizi allegedly texted a picture of himself in the bushes outside the victim’s home.
“Look where I am,” documents say he allegedly texted her.
“Be careful,” she allegedly replied.
Azizi, a Washington state resident, was located near the California murder scene, thanks to phone records, police alleged.
Mohammad-Ibrahim denied to investigators having partial problems or arguing with her husband about an affair, according to officers. But investigators claimed to find records of being called there two weeks before regarding a domestic disturbance.
Assar described spotting an unknown man waking into his home through a Ring camera. At the time, Mohammad-Ibrahim told cops her husband was returning home with a gun when he learned of the affair.
In April, Assar claimed his wife kidnapped their children on a supposed vacation to Canada. She let their visas expire. From then on, Assar began to realize his marriage was over.
As cops were at the murder scene, a man walked up to the crime scene tape, documents reportedly stated. Describing himself as a close friend of Assar, he said the victim had asked to stay at his home. Assar, he said, was afraid Mohammad-Ibrahim was going to attack him.
Police said Azizi was arrested in Seattle on Oct. 31 and is awaiting extradition. He’s held without bail at the King County Jail. Officers arrested Mohammad-Ibrahim on Nov. 15 and held her without bail at the Santa Rita Jail in California, authorities said.
Cops said the married couple’s children are living with family.
