Investigators in Missouri believe they have found the remains of a 44-year-old woman who disappeared in early September.
The Independence Police Department said it was searching an area with cadaver dogs for Ebony Duncan when it found human remains, Fox4KC reported.
Detectives said positive identification will be made by the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office, but the remains had identifiers that are consistent with those of Duncan.
Duncan was last seen leaving her job at Sunterra Springs, a senior care facility, in early September. She got into a silver sedan, which was seen on surveillance video.
According to court documents, “[Ebony Duncan] confided in a co-worker that a prior intimate partner or ex-boyfriend was threatening to kill her.”
Detectives are also looking for 42-year-old Keaira Ransberg for questions.
