A Georgia woman is behind bars after police say they found the remains of a 4-year-old child, Sunday, inside her Nissan sedan.
According to police, Jessica Motes is facing a felony concealing a death charge in connection with the death of the child, whose relationship to the defendant is unclear.
Motes’ father said he saw her on Sunday at a shopping center parking lot in Oakwood. She drove her car to the lot and allegedly told her father that she “Hurt (redacted name)” and “I think she is dead,” 11 Alive News reports.
The father then reportedly spoke to police, who subsequently found the child’s remains in Motes’ trunk.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating, along with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
