It’s official: Erika Jayne’s budding relationship with John McPhee has gotten the stamp of approval from her The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills castmates.
After paparazzi photos of Erika and her new man surfaced during Season 15, Episode 4, the 90210 ladies shared even more of their unfiltered takes on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show. What seemed to be most stunning to the women was not the romance itself, but rather how dressed-down Erika was when the covert pics were snapped.
“I am shocked that Erika is, like, [in] public, outside holding hands with somebody with no makeup on — and not an outfit!” Bozoma Saint John declared, prompting instant agreement from Dorit Kemsley, who also pointed out that Erika was smiling from ear to ear in the photos.Â

“She looked happier than I have ever seen her look — ever,” Dorit added.
Kyle Richards, meanwhile, made similar comments: “The fact that she would be, like, no makeup and her jeans and just casual like that, she felt comfortable in her own skin. And that, to me, told me something about him.”
John’s choice of footwear also caught Kyle’s attention. “If someone is turning a blind eye to a pair of socks, that’s love,” she joked, before sharing that she’d also put together a promising astrology chart on the couple. “It felt like, ‘Is this the one?'”
Kyle’s RHOBH After Show partner, newbie Amanda Frances, was more focused on Erika’s boyfriend’s “big, strong manly man” look.
“He had masculine energy, and I just felt like I loved it for her, because she seemed relaxed,” Amanda weighed in. “Without knowing her at all at that point, it seemed like a good vibe for her. … I think we’re all very, like, pro. I think everyone’s very supportive of her.”
Jennifer Tilly similarly “didn’t even notice the socks,” and just thought John was “hot,” in general.
“She looks happy, she’s dressed down,” Jennifer said. “I thought he looked like a good guy for her. Maybe not Mr. Right, but totally Mr. Right Now.”

Dorit and Boz didn’t find out until the RHOBH After Show taping that Erika had actually shared the news of her relationship with Kyle before the photos came to light. Both ladies appeared shocked when a producer filled them in, too.
Separately, Kyle admitted, “She told me about him before the picture came out and before anyone knew. She was definitely smitten.”

On RHOBH‘s Jan. 8 episode, Erika said at a group dinner in Sedona that she’d kept her new love a secret from the cast because “there wasn’t enough there to talk about,” at the time, and “the time wasn’t right to say anything.”
Erika explained on the After Show that she and John had only gone on two dates — including a mani-pedi session — before the paparazzi photos thrust their relationship into the public eye.
“I’m kind of disappointed, though, because I would’ve liked a little bit more time to get to know him before something like that happened,” she elaborated. “It changes everything, and then it’s no longer yours.”

Erika further unpacked how she had approached John as a “fan” at London’s Mighty Hoopla festival in 2025, and their romantic spark grew from there.
“I still see him, and he’s great,” she revealed on the After Show. “And I’m having a great time.”Â
Noting that she’s still legally married to estranged husband Tom Girardi, Erika remarked that she’s unsure, but doubtful that she’ll ever tie the knot again.Â
She concluded, “I don’t want to give anybody these problems.”
