The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 10 kicks off with Gizelle Bryant reacting to the news that Karen Huger was sentenced to one year in jail after being found guilty of multiple charges related to driving under the influence.
Technically, the above first look at RHOP‘s Season 10 premiere (airing on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT) begins with Karen’s September 2, 2025, release from the Montgomery County Detention Center, before rewinding six months to just two days post-sentencing. As Gizelle is preparing refreshments to host some of her castmates at her home, she admits that she “might need some liquor” to cope with her friend’s unfathomable new reality.
“I feel so many different emotions. I wish this weren’t happening,” Gizelle reveals to a producer in a confessional. “Do I want Karen in jail? Absolutely not. But do I want to make sure that we don’t have a fifth DUI? For sure. But I just want my Karen back, I really do.”

Ashley Darby is the first to arrive at Gizelle’s home, and the latter promptly points out how they’ve had an “intense” and “crazy 72 hours.” As Gizelle bluntly puts it, “Karen’s waking up in jail.’
“I want her to be secure,” she adds. “In fact, if there’s, like, an elderly section, like, I want her to be there.”

Shortly afterward, castmates Wendy Osefo, Stacey Rusch, and Keiarna Stewart join them, and Gizelle reiterates her disbelief, explaining how she thought they all “needed to be together,” after “what just happened to Karen.”
Wendy, for one, similarly struggles to wrap her head around the fact that “Karen’s in jail.”
“For me, the worst part is the fact that it was so instant,” Wendy shares. “Like, she was taken into custody right away. Like, how did she process that? Like, did she know? Was she prepared? For Karen, we may have our differences, but at the core of me, that was once my friend, so I want the best for her.”
Keiarna, meanwhile, highlights that Karen is in “state jail,” adding, “She has to take a shower with people. Like, she is in jail, y’all.”

Stacey, for her part, chimes in that she “immediately started to think” about Karen’s 28-year-old daughter, Rayvin Huger, and “how worried she must be.” Gizelle piggybacks on that sentiment, adding that her “heart breaks” for both Rayvin and Karen’s husband, Ray Huger.
As Ashley offers, “When I heard it, I cried so much. It was like this initial, like, gut punch. …Â It’s not settling in.”
What to expect from RHOP Season 10
In Karen’s absence, Gizelle will be “stepping up and bringing the ladies together, but never failing to keep them in check,” according to the official Season 10 announcement.
The RHOP Season 10 trailer also showed Gizelle writing to Karen behind bars to fill her in on all the drama happening in her life and within the group.
“In a lot of ways, life has been moving on … and some things haven’t changed at all,” Gizelle explained.
For her specifically, that means “embracing the single life with a few new prospects in the mix.”
Gizelle’s isn’t the only love life taking center stage on RHOP Season 10, either: Now that Ashley is officially divorced, she is “balancing her role as a devoted mom with the tumultuous nature of the dating pool.” Elsewhere, Stacey’s reconciliation with her ex-husband raises eyebrows “about her past choices and present connections,” and Keiarna “needs her boyfriend Greg to prove that there’s a future in their relationship.”
Though Wendy and husband Eddie Osefo’s romance is solid, “some big changes in both her personal and professional lives” include “attempting to reconnect with a figure from her past.”
The ladies are also adding two new members to the friend group, Tia Glover and Angel Massie, as well as welcoming back two more familiar faces: Jassi Rideaux and Monique Samuels.
