It’s cuteness overload when it comes to Next Gen NYC’s Riley Burruss and her pair of pooches, and our furry little hearts just can’t take it. Riley is navigating living her best life in the Big Apple with her two dogs by her side.
The proud dog mom recently spoke with The Daily Dish about her two adorable Frenchies, Banks and Cash. Observant fans got to see Banks, a Merle French Bulldog with a mottled grey and white coat, as he made his TV debut during Next Gen NYC‘s season premiere — now available to watch on Peacock. In it, the music business major and recent NYU grad proudly carried the pup along the busy New York avenue.
“They’re a lot to handle,” Riley admitted in her exclusive interview. “But they’re both really cool. They’re perfect for me.”
Here’s everything we know about Banks and Cash and what makes them so special.
What to know about Riley Burruss’ dogs, Banks and Cash
Riley introduced her adorable — albeit “heavy” — fur babies in a March video she posted on her Instagram page. In the caption, Riley couldn’t hold back when declaring her love: “I love them so much!”
Banks, she said, was about to turn 4 but a little too shy to face the camera. “He’s a little bit of an anxious baby, but he’s super cute and cuddly,” Riley told her many followers.Â
Her “second-born,” Cash — a Fluffy French Bulldog — nuzzled his little nose to his mama’s neck; a small pup then only 3 months old with black, tan, and white fur. “She’s super cuddly,” said Riley. “And she’s, like, so adorable.”
Kandi Burruss’s hot take on Riley getting a dog
In 2022, Riley’s parents, The Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker, shared their initial thoughts on Riley getting a dog back when the then-19-year-old was still pursuing her undergraduate degree in the Big Apple and deciding which college major was best for her.
“Her and that dog,” Kandi began, adding when chatting with us at the time, “I told her she shouldn’t have got a dog ’cause I feel like at that age, if you want to travel, if you want to do things, you don’t have time to be coming, trying to worry, checking on the dog.”
Even then, assuming Kandi was referring to Banks, the puppy’s shy nature was evident to all. “He don’t want to walk outside ’cause he gets nervous around a whole bunch of people,” Kandi continued.Â
Todd, on the other hand, held a different opinion. “I think it was good for her, the responsibility,” he told The Daily Dish. “I think [during] COVID time, people were feeling a little down. Dogs kind of bring that little [vibe], you know, what you need [energy]. And, you know, she’s in New York by herself. And then it’s cool when she has to travel, she has to figure it out. ‘What do I do with my dog?’ So, it gives her this added responsibility, as she has to figure it out.”
Riley Burruss opens up about her NYC apartment
Back in 2024, Riley made the move from Manhattan to Brooklyn. “Brooklyn is more, like, calm,” Riley shared in Next Gen NYC  Season 1, Episode 2, adding that in Brooklyn, she feels “you have an actual community.”
Of course, for Riley that community includes her two pups! And you can hear more from Riley about her life in Brooklyn by checking out the video at the top of the post.
