Riley Burruss is preparing for a brand new season of Next Gen NYC with a brand new look.
Recently, the New York-based Bravoleb shared a before-and-after video on her Instagram Stories, showing what started with her signature natural curls and ended with her revealing a customized look of long and plum-red locks which curled at the ends.
Riley tagged Dhair Boutique — which has locations in Riley’s native Atlanta, Georgia, and Brooklyn, New York — and the business shared a separate video from Riley, adding a heart emoji and the caption, “Obsessed.”
Details on Riley Burruss’ hair journey
Between appearing as Kandi Burruss’s daughter on The Real Housewives of Atlanta and her role in Next Gen NYC, Riley has been candid about her changing looks across the years. Waist-length micro braids and going to the blonde side to help get her into a “New York state of mind” have just been a few examples of how the NYU grad has expressed her style.
Last year, Riley opted to let her natural curls grow, publishing an April 2024 post of her look and stating, “Like fine wine my hair got better with time.”
It was a shift from when Riley described the high maintenance attached to letting her natural hair come through, as she discussed in a September 2023 TikTok video when leaving her old look behind.

“I also took out my braids the other day, like, randomly — knowing that I don’t actually know how to do my real hair,” she confessed. “So the past couple of days have been a real journey. The past few days have consisted of me asking my mom, ‘OK, how do I — what should I do when I go to sleep? Should I twist it? Should I brush it?’ I have a million questions and she’s sending me a million products.”
Riley also shared that she would previously put on a wig to complete her image, “but now it’s, like, OK I have to brush my hair out, unbraid it, brush it, put products on it — it’s a lot.”
What to expect from Riley Burruss on Next Gen NYC Season 2
Riley’s powerful new look comes amid news that Season 2 of Next Gen NYC is on the way. There, she will reunite with BFF and fellow RHOA daughter, Ariana Biermann, plus Gia Giudice, Brooks Marks, Georgia McCann, Hudson McLeroy, Charlie Zakkour, Ava Dash, Emira D’Spain, and Shai Fruchter.
Last month, Riley looked back at Season 1 in an interview with Us Weekly, stating she was most proud of how she “articulated [her]self” instead of getting caught up in the moment.
”I feel like I navigated my own path,” Riley said before referring to her mom. “She told me, ‘Just be yourself, be honest, be real and just figure out what you want to do [in real-time]. As long as you’re honest, you will be OK — don’t lie about anything.’”
