Salley Carson is willing to acknowledge the optics of her excitement over Austen Kroll and Audrey Pratt’s breakup on Southern Charm.
“I’m gonna get the ick watching myself back,” Salley predicted on Southern Charm After Show, referring to her reaction to finding out Austen was newly single during Season 11, Episode 10 (more on that below). “I feel bad when anybody breaks up, but at the same time, I just was, like, in this moment. I was being selfish and thinking about myself, for sure.”
After pointing out that Audrey has “always been sweet” to her, Salley pushed back on Molly O’Connell’s playful analogy that they hadn’t even “buried the body” yet, by the time she really set her sights on Austen.

“Honestly, I feel like the body was a little cold,” Salley insisted. “It was a little cold for a couple of months, I feel like, before they broke up.”
Salley Carson defended her Austen Kroll hookup comment
Either way, Molly claimed that her castmate’s behavior validated her side of their previous argument over Salley declaring that she would “hook up with” Austen “the day after” he and Audrey split. (Austen and Audrey were still together at the time). While further defending herself, Salley made a clarification on her comment.
“I will say, I never said, ‘I can’t wait for them to break up,'” Salley pointed out to Molly. “I said, ‘When they break up, it’s game time.”’
For context, Salley’s full statement during the second episode of Southern Charm Season 11 was: “I love Audrey, but my personality fits with Austen very well. I mean, would I hook up with him? The day after they break up, let’s go.”

Admitting on the After Show that her words were “disrespectful towards Audrey for sure,” Salley continued, “I was in a kitchen with my best friends just having fun, being silly, saying what was on my mind. I didn’t think they were actually gonna break up. I would never wish ill on someone.”
As she concluded, however, “I mean, whatever, they’re broken up now. … It’s game time.”
Salley Carson’s reaction to Austen Kroll’s split on Southern Charm, explained
While driving to Whitner Slagsvol’s family estate, Itchy Grass Farm, with Molly and Charley Manley, Salley called Austen, who was also behind the wheel, to fill him in on the latest drama involving Craig Conover. At the end of their conversation, Salley mentioned that Austen had a girlfriend, to which he cryptically replied, “Yeah, we gotta talk about that…”
Before she could get clarification on what Austen meant, his passengers, Venita Aspen and Rodrigo Reyes, rushed him off the phone, since they were already in the midst of getting details on his and Audrey’s breakup when Salley called him.
Either way, Salley could read between the lines, and Charley described her demeanor as being “giddy.”
After the group had all arrived at Whitner’s farm, Salley remarked to Madison LeCroy that Austen was “looking sexy as f–k” as he took a shirtless dip in the pool.
After Madison replied, “Too soon,” Salley asked, “Oh, really? I don’t know anything. Is he still dating Audrey?”
That’s when Madison filled her in that Austen had shared his breakup news with her the previous day, prompting Salley to respond, “I feel like a bitch for being happy.”
Sporting a wide grin in a confessional, Salley exclaimed with a laugh, “It’s game on. I’m excited.”
In the meantime, don’t miss an update on where Salley and Austen stand now, after Southern Charm Season 11 wrapped filming.
