In Scheana Shay’s new memoir, My Good Side, she revealed that her husband, Brock Davies, had a “sexual affair” with someone in 2020, while she was pregnant with their daughter. Although the Vanderpump Rules alum found out about the affair in between filming VPR Seasons 10 and 11, she had largely kept it a secret from the people in her life until the release of the memoir in July 2025. And now she’s addressing why she never talked about it on VPR.
During an appearance on The Ringer Reality TV Podcast on Aug. 12, Scheana admitted that she can see why fans might be confused as to why she didn’t come clean about the affair on the show, considering the events that unfolded in VPR Season 11. “Yes, I see the frustration, I see the hypocrisy. I absolutely understand that,” she said.
“At the time, I just felt like I was in survival mode and I was just trying to keep my head above water and I was drowning,” she admitted.
She continued, revealing that she is aware that she took some of her aggression out on Tom Sandoval during VPRÂ Season 11. “I had so much anger and hatred towards my husband and I was taking it out on Tom Sandoval because I had it for him as well,” Scheana added. “It was the cheating in general, there was so many things triggered me that I just had to take it all out on Tom.”
Scheana revealed on the podcast that she had even kept the affair a secret from her mom, Erika van Olphen, who “wasn’t getting along great” with Brock at the time. “So I knew that was another reason I sure as hell wasn’t going to tell my mom, because I didn’t want her to tell me I should leave,” she said.

She also shared that this was another reason why she didn’t want to tell Ariana. “As much I wanted to confide in my best friend, I knew she was still going through so much and now she’s in a new relationship, and she’s so busy, and I didn’t want to trauma dump on her,” she said.

And I was like, ‘This is not OK. I’m not doing this.'”
