Scott Allen Schultz broke into homes, exposed himself: Cops

A 60-year-old Michigan man with a history of sex-related crimes is facing a possible life sentence after he was caught on surveillance cameras attempting to break into several homes in a residential area and masturbating outside at least one of them.

Scott Allen Schultz — who did himself no favors when he interrupted a judge during his first court appearance this week to seemingly defend his actions — was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with three counts of first-degree attempted home invasion and one count of indecent exposure by a sexually delinquent person, authorities said.

Schultz is also a habitual felony fourth offender, which means his sentence could be drastically enhanced if he is convicted, according to a news release from the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office.

“Such behavior is not only a violation of personal boundaries but also poses a threat to the safety and well-being of our community,” Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido said in a statement. “We are committed to pursuing justice, emphasizing the sacred nature of the home. Simultaneously, we recognize the importance of addressing mental health concerns where appropriate.”

Deputies with the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office responded on Tuesday to an area in the 100 block of Market Street in Mount Clemens after receiving multiple 911 calls claiming that a man was attempting to break into houses, authorities said in a separate release.
