Search Continues for Missing 11-Year-Old Autistic Boy as Mom Denies His Existence – Crime Online

Authorities are still searching for an 11-year-old New York boy who has been missing since September.

Police sources told WPIX that Jacob Prichett’s mother is being held at Rikers Island while they continue to search for him. The 50-year-old mother has a warrant in Brooklyn family court for failing to produce Prichett, the sources said.

The sources also told WPIX that the NYPD and state police searched a landfill near Rochester for Prichett but found no remains. It is unclear if authorities are going to continue searching there — though reports indicated that trash in Brooklyn can also be sent to High Acres Landfill in Perinton.

On September 25, the Administration for Children’s Services conducted a welfare check at Prichett’s Brooklyn apartment. Case workers reportedly searched the home and found no sign of the boy, whose mother allegedly refused to show a birth certificate.

On October 1, the agency returned to the apartment with NYPD officers. However, they still could not find any evidence of Prichett living there.

It was during that search that a K-9 cadaver dog reportedly detected human blood on a refrigerator in the apartment, which did not have electricity. The 50-year-old woman, who initially denied being the missing boy’s mother, was taken into custody.

According to reports, neighbors said they last saw Prichett — who is autistic and nonverbal — weeks before the welfare check. They also claimed they overheard Preichett’s mother yelling at him before his disappearance.

Prichett’s mother, who has not been publicly named, was initially hospitalized as an emotionally disturbed person.
