Search for Missing Alabama Tot Expands to Several States – Crime Online

Tips in connection with the disappearance of 2-year-old Alabama tot Genesis Reid have reportedly led investigators to several other states.

According to WDHN, tips connected to the case sparked investigations in mutiple states across the south, including Georgia, Florida, and Texas. Enterprise police reportedly said there are no plans to scale back the search.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, the child’s mother, Adrienne Reid, 33, said she discovered Genesis missing from bed on February 16, and noticed a door had been opened at their apartment, at 201 Apach Drive in Enterprise.

Reid reported Genesis missing at 3:10 a.m. that morning, according to police.

Neighbors reportedly said that they haven’t seen Genesis for weeks, but prior to January, they saw her many times, while out on walks with her mother.

According to ABC 3340, Genesis’ father and other family members have been cooperative as the search continues, police said.

Earlier this week, police arrested Adrienne Reid and charged with a felony count of providing false information to law enforcement.

On Thursday, police confirmed that two highway billboards have been placed to help with the search. One is at the at the Boll Weevil Circle intersection, at Highway 167 North in Enterprise, AL.com reports.

The other billboard at the Boll Weevil Circle intersection and Highway 84.

“The high-traffic locations were selected to maximize community visibility and generate significant daily impressions,” Enterprise Police Chief Michael Moore said.

Along with Enterprise police, the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, FBI, U.S. Marshals, and the State Bureau of Investigation are assisting in the case.

Genesis is described as a Black female who stands 2 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs around 25 pounds. She has black hair, and brown eyes.

Police said she had on pink Mickey Mouse pajamas at the time of her disappearance.

Meanwhile, a vigil for Genesis will be held on February 20, at the Bates Memorial Stadium on East Watts Avenue. According to WDHN, the vigil is expected to begin at 7 p.m.

“The gathering is intended to unite the community in hope, prayer, and collective resolve as efforts continue,” police said in a statement.

“Attendees are asked to come in a spirit of unity and reflection and bring only a light source, nothing more.”

Reaid remains jailed at the Coffee County Jail on a $1 million bond.
