Police in Florida continue to search for a missing Oconee County, South Carolina, teen and her 4-month-old girl.
According to WYFF4, the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office stated that 15-year-old Jazmynn Sakkinen and the infant were last seen Friday night at a residence on Yellow Belle Road at around 11 p.m., near Wallhalla.
Family members reported her missing.
Although authorities said she left on her own accord, they’re concerned due to her age and the infant’s need for special formula.
“We learned also on Saturday that the little infant does require a special kind of formula. So, therefore, because of those reasons, the missing persons unit considers them to be endangered,” sheriff’s office spokesperson Jimmy Watt told the outlet.
Watt added that there currently is not an active search since the teen left on her voluntarily and since there is no “vehicle description, no tag, no direction of travel.”
“So, at what point in time, if you’re going to use a bunch of personnel and resources, at what point do you start the search?” he asked.
Jazmynn may have been in black ripped jeans, a beige shirt with flowers, purple Nikes, and wearing a heart necklace when she disappeared, FOX Carolina reports.
She’s described as standing 5 feet, 5 inches and weighing around 164 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts should contact 911. Anonymous tipsters are encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at Crimestoppers at 1-844-71-CRIME or online at 71crime.com.
