Search Reconvenes for Young Mom Missing Since 2022 – Crime Online

On Thursday, Georgia police reconvened their search for a woman who vanished in 2022.

Albany police told WALB that they are searching for Lacambria Toomer, 23, with the assistance of the Criminal Investigations Bureau, Albany Fire Department, Dougherty County EMS, and the District Attorney’s Office. Police said the latest search follows one that took place on November 1.

Toomer was last seen in Albany in 2022. Though Toomer’s ex-boyfriend and child’s father, Ryan Cooper, 23, was arrested in 2023 for her murder, she remains unaccounted for.

A year before Toomer’s disappearance, Cooper allegedly struck Toomer with a handgun and bit her.

Cooper allegedly told police that he dropped off Toomer at a Love’s Truck Stop in Cordele. Police ultimately determined this was not true, according to WSB-TV.

Toomer’s phone reportedly last pinged at an abandoned home in Dawson, about a half-hour drive from Albany.

Dougherty County district attorney Gregory Edwards previously told WALB that the evidence suggests Toomer was killed in Dougherty County.

Records indicated that Cooper remains jailed on $49,000 bail.
