Andy Cohen may be known as a beloved host, producer, and author, but he’s also a skilled actor! The Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host just appeared on the Sex and the City reboot, And Just Like That, to reprise a very special role. And, yes, it means he reunited on-screen with his longtime BFF and SATC icon, Sarah Jessica Parker.
On July 24, Andy took to Instagram to announce his return to the SATC universe as — you guessed it — a shoe salesman! Only this time, Andy’s character has both a name and a speaking part. “How it went… how it’s going!” Andy captioned the photo carousel featuring a throwback photo of him filming SATC and a new photo of him filming AJLT. “Thank you Michael Patrick King for bringing back the BELOVED character of ‘Barney’s Shoe Salesman’… who is now a Bergdorf’s Shoe salesman named DANIEL!”

AJLT‘s official Instagram also celebrated Andy’s appearance on the show, posting a side-by-side clip of his original scene and his new scene. “Andy Cohen: king of Bravo, keeper of Carrie’s Manolos,” the caption read.Â

Andy’s character, Daniel, appeared in the AJLT Season 3 episode titled Present Tense. In the episode, Carrie finds herself at Bergdorf’s, aka Daniel’s place of work, after a rough argument with her boyfriend, Aidan Shaw, played by John Corbett. The scene begins with Carrie eyeing a pair of flats when Daniel approaches her with a stack of shoeboxes. “Hey Carrie, I am slammed, but I’m gonna be right with you, ok?” Andy’s character tells her.
When did Andy Cohen appear on Sex and The City?
Andy actually made his SATC debut over 20 years ago, appearing in the Season 6 episode, Let There Be Light. The “king of Bravo” played an attentive shoe salesman at Barney’s, helping main character Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, select the perfect Manolo Blahnik heels for a date.

Andy Cohen gives a shoutout to SATC’s Michael Patrick King on WWHL
On July 24, Andy gave Michael his “Mazel of the Day” for asking him to return to the beloved television franchise.
“It is time for my “Mazel of the Day.” It goes to Michael Patrick King, the great Michael Patrick King for having the good sense to bring back the most beloved character in the Sex and the City cannon: the shoe salesman from Season 6 played by yours truly,” he joked.
“And this time, tonight on And Just Like That, [he] gave him a name,” Andy added.
Sarah Jessica Parker sheds light on her friendship with Andy Cohen
There’s no question that Sarah Jessica and Andy are close friends. Just last week, the actress even made an appearance on WWHL. After Andy introduced her to the audience as his “friend,” SJP opened up about their relationship.
“It’s so funny to be formally with you in a pretend … professional engagement,” Sarah Jessica told Andy. The WWHL host agreed, adding that the pair had just hung out the night before.
