Jennifer Pedranti has some major updates on her son, Dawson Pedranti, after he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and entered bootcamp earlier this summer. The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member and mom of five had been emotional about her second-oldest son leaving her, especially in the midst of her planning her wedding to her fiancé, Ryan Boyajian.
During an episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County After Show, as seen in the video above, Jenn admitted that there is so much uncertainty with Dawson being in the Marines now. But, she was very excited to get her first letter from him, which she documented in a video posted to TikTok in July.
“So he’s been there, three weeks now, in bootcamp, and last week I got my first letter which was literally like heaven on earth,” she explained at the time.Â
“He’s doing great! Wait, I don’t know, I shouldn’t say that. It was funny, he’s like, ‘I’m writing to you even though I’m not supposed to be.’ And then he said, ‘I haven’t slept in 40 hours. It’s really hard mom, I’m a bit homesick,'” she detailed.
Although this was a bit hard for Jenn to read, Dawson assured her that things were going well. “But then he says, ‘I know as you read this you’re freaking out and I’m actually doing OK,'” she concluded.
Jenn Pedranti reveals son Dawson is out of bootcamp
Jenn took to Instagram on Oct. 14, where she revealed that Dawson is finally out of bootcamp after he first went there in early July. The proud mom posted a Reel, filled with a photo of Dawson in his military fatigues, as well as a picture of him in his uniform.Â
“He’s back!” she wrote in the caption of the post. “[Dawson Pedranti] we are all CHEERING you on!”

She continued in the caption, revealing that Dawson does have to do more training. But, she will be seeing him a lot more often. “These next three months are going to fly by! I will come see you EVERY time you tell me I can (be careful),” she noted.
“So many people have prayed over you, sent messages on your behalf, sent positivity to you,” she added. “Today as you go back for more training please know we are LIFTING you up and CHEERING so loudly for you!!! Go get-em Marine Pedranti.”

But, Dawson’s graduation from bootcamp didn’t go as planned. Jenn took to Instagram on Oct. 3, where she revealed that Dawson had passed out 20 minutes into his graduation.

“In the last few days of his boot camp (the hardest days called The Crucible) he came down with pneumonia. He thought he was getting through it today but it got the best of him,” she wrote in the caption. “Dawson was so bummed…I could see his disappointment in his eyes. BUT the rest of us are PROUD! I’m proud to sit and watch him become a marine in his graduation OR standing next to him in a hospital bed getting an IV!”
