The Valley’s Kristen Doute is hilariously telling it like it is during her first few days as a new mom — adult diapers and all.
The t-shirt designer isn’t holding anything back when it comes to the realities of life with a newborn after welcoming baby daughter, Kaia Lily Broderick, with fiancé Luke Broderick earlier this month.
As Kristen shared on her Instagram Stories, the new family of three was recently ready for their close-up with a family photo shoot. But these days Kristen is sporting a new accessory only new moms can fully understand. “Family photo shoot today! Kaia and I both wore diapers,” she captioned a shot of herself as she prepped for the shoot in a sports bra and comfy pants that she shared earlier this month.
It wasn’t the only truth the new mom was doling out. In another shot, Luke can be seen peacefully sleeping on the couch as an exhausted Kristen looks into the camera wearing a less than amused expression. “I’m only letting him get away with it so he now has to take the late shift,” she wrote.
She added that the sleepless nights as parents to a newborn were getting to both of them. “I don’t know how we are still running on empty, but we are parenting so hard,” she wrote.
It hasn’t been all work for the Vanderpump Rules alum, however. In another photo shared on Instagram Stories, Kristen shared a photo of mother and daughter enjoying some down together as they cuddled on the couch. The snap didn’t show Kaia’s face, but did show her tiny little legs clad in pink pants and white socks as she sat with her mom.

Kristen and Luke announced the birth of their daughter on Instagram on June 13, sharing a shot of Kristen holding her daughter’s hand. “Kaia Lily Broderick, we’ve never known a love like this until you,” Kristen captioned the image.

She later opened up to Us Weekly about the baby’s adorable moniker, sharing that it had a unique meaning for the couple, who got engaged in Hawaii.
“We knew we wanted our baby name to have something to do, or revolve around, water,” she said of the name, which translates to “sea” in Hawaiian. “Lillies are my favorite flower. They’re associated with new beginnings, beauty, and also the name Lily indicates a ‘gentle and compassionate nature, suggesting a kind and caring personality.’”
Although she admitted the couple wasn’t getting much sleep, she told the outlet they were “completely overwhelmed with love.”
