Josh Duggar, who is serving a 12-year sentence for child pornography, is speaking out following his younger brother’s arrest in Florida for child molestation.
Josh Duggar’s attorney told the Daily Mail that Joseph Duggar’s arrest on Wednesday “deeply saddened” his client. The attorney also mentioned that Josh Duggar has not been in regular communication with Joseph Duggar, who was accused of touching a 9-year-old girl in 2020.
“Josh understands the stigma of being accused. He lives with the painful reality of how false accusations can destroy a life. He understands how the targeting of a person for publicity can twist the truth into sensationalized fiction,” the lawyer commented.

Josh Duggar’s 14-year-old accuser said the abuse occurred during a 2020 family trip in Palm Beach. According to police, the victim said Duggar had asked her to sit on his lap. Duggar allegedly later asked the girl to sit next to her and covered them with a blanket — leading him to move her underwear and touch her genitals and thighs.
Duggar reportedly apologized for his actions and stopped abusing the victim.
On Tuesday, the victim’s father confronted Duggar about the abuse. Duggar allegedly confessed to both the father and Tontitown investigators.
Duggar, who was arrested in Arkansas, is charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim less than 12 years old and lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person 18 years or older. He is currently awaiting extradition to Florida.
