The drama brewing between Shannon Storms Beador and Katie Ginella over a secret recording reached a boiling point on The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 19, Episode 3.
With an assist from Jennifer Pedranti, Katie secured some one-on-one time with Shannon at Heather Dubrow’s belated birthday bash to apologize again for recording her having a “meltdown” during the previous season’s gallery shoot.
“I did not mean to hurt you in any way,” Katie said. “I have no excuse.”Â
However, Shannon was already fired up and accused Katie of making “excuses” and violating her privacy in a moment she was “upset” for an unspecified reason. Shannon also maintained her belief in Tamra Judge’s claim that Katie had actually played the recording for Alexis Bellino amidst her then-active lawsuit with ex John Janssen.

Heather made the same claim after speaking to Alexis during a recent phone call. Katie, however, repeatedly denied this and insisted that she only shared the audio with her husband, Matt Ginella, and “Alexis never heard it.”
Regardless, Shannon, who was further irritated by the fact Katie was attempting to defend her actions, said she had no interest in accepting her mea culpa.
“Katie, no apology will ever measure up to how much you violated me,” she fumed. “I will never, ever speak to you again. You are the most evil person I have ever met.”
As the argument continued to intensify, Jenn and Gina Kirschenheiter eventually walked over to intervene.
“This girl, worse than Alexis Bellino, worse than Tamra Judge,” Shannon told them, before declaring to Katie, “We’re done!”
The RHOC cast reveals what happened the day Katie recorded Shannon
Tamra first discussed the recording in question with Gina and Emily Simpson on Episode 2, revealing, “Last year, Katie was filming Shannon having a full-blown meltdown at our gallery shoot.”
According to Tamra, Shannon arrived two hours late to the cast’s end-of-season promo shoot, where she and Katie were sharing a dressing room. She added that Shannon was allegedly “pissed off that Alexis was there at the same time she was” and “started screaming and cussing” into her phone, while Katie was on a business call with her husband.
Later at Katie’s hot pot lunch, Gina broke the news to Shannon and the rest of the cast, and Katie shared her version of events.

“You came in and you were screaming, and I recorded on a voice note and sent it to Matt,” she explained to Shannon, denying that there was a video. “No one has listened to that but my husband.”
Responding to Gretchen Rossi’s question about her motivation for making the recording in the first place, Katie continued, “We were talking to an investor. I was upset that I had to jump off of the call. I was telling Matt, ‘This is what’s going on right now.'”
In a confessional, she elaborated, “Honestly, at the time, I was pissed. It was supposed to be a fun day for all of us, and instead, we [got] to hear Shannon yelling.”

Prior to Katie’s heated confrontation with Shannon on RHOC‘s July 24 episode, she sat down with Gina to discuss the “brutal” exchange at her hot pot outing. Katie debriefed her on how she had texted Shannon an apology afterward, as an onscreen graphic highlighted snippets of her message.
In addition to writing that she felt “terrible” and was “mortified,” Katie’s message also stated, “I regret the recording. And telling Alexis.”
Shannon did not respond, though.
As Katie opened up to Gina, “The fact that I hurt her, I’m dying on the inside right now. …Â I should have never overshared with Alexis. I was with Alexis and Jenn. We were on a triple date. And I shared that, and I should have never done that.”
She further told Gina later at Heather’s party, “Seeing Shannon makes me sad. Like, I’m sad.”
