Shannon Storms Beador is revealing why her eldest daughter, Sophie Beador, called things off with her longtime boyfriend, Reese, in a new preview for Season 19, Episode 2 of The Real Housewives of Orange County (set to air Thursday, July 17).
In the clip above, Shannon arrives at a dinner with her fellow Housewives. There, she shares that Sophie is visiting home for a bachelorette party before dropping some shocking news. “Sophie broke up with her boyfriend,” she tells the group.
“Reese was part of our family,” Shannon explains in a confessional. “But Sophie decided she wanted to live her life and never wonder what it would’ve been like had she been a single girl in New York City.” (For those who don’t know, Sophie moved to NYC after she graduated from Baylor University in May 2024.)
In the preview, Shannon also tells her friends why Sophie ended things with Reese: “She said, ‘I’m gonna focus on my career. This is the time when I’m supposed to go out and have adventures and live life.'”
Shannon’s fellow Housewives are supportive of Sophie’s choice, with Tamra Judge and Emily Simpson both calling the breakup a “smart” decision.

By the looks of her Instagram account, Sophie is living her best life in the city that never sleeps! On July 9, the 24-year-old celebrated her one-year-anniversary of living in NYC with an adorable Instagram post. The photo carousel featured stunning snaps of the city skyline and fun flicks of Sophie with her friends.

“Love these!!!!” Shannon commented on the post, referring to the photos. “Love to see you so happy!!!”
As for her career, according to Sophie’s LinkedIn profile, the California native earned a Bachelor’s Degree in sports sales leadership and management and now works as an account services representative.

On June 26, Shannon commemorated Sophie’s 24th birthday with a thoughtful Instagram post, giving more insight into her strong relationship with her first-born. “Happy Happy Birthday to my beautiful 24-year-old [Sophie Beador]. Your positive attitude, strength, ambition, and maturity make me the proudest mother!” she wrote in the caption. “I love that you are living your best life in NYC and can’t wait to celebrate with you soon! This year is going to be AMAZING!!!”
Sophie returned the love, commenting, “I love you mom!! Thank you for everything,” on the post.
A look at Shannon Storms Beador’s twins’ life today
Sophie isn’t the only Beador daughter who’s living her best life — Shannon’s 21-year-old twins, Adeline and Stella Beador, are also thriving. Adeline lives in NYC and studies at Parsons School of Design. Her Instagram is full of posts capturing her exciting life and stylish outfits.
Stella attends Shannon’s alma mater, the University of Southern California. Although she calls the Golden State home, she spent part of college abroad in Paris. The world-traveler often shares snaps of her fun-filled travels to countries like Morocco, the Netherlands, and Cyprus on her Instagram.
