Shep Rose Reveals Shocking Unseen Detail From Group Dinner

As his shady dinner game ignited drama on Southern Charm, Shep Rose was actually making a play for Charley Manley at the other end of the table in an unseen moment from the Season 11 cast trip to Mexico.

Episode 13 picked back up with Craig Conover and Venita Aspen’s argument that sparked as the Charm-ers went around the table and suggested New Year’s resolutions for each other. As Shep revealed on the Southern Charm After Show, viewers missed him shooting his shot amid the heated back-and-forth.

“I was flirting with Charley pretty hard,” Shep explained. “It was pretty funny because Craig was at the end of the table.”

He went on to cite the slow progression of Craig and Charley’s romance in justifying his flirty banter, as well as his request that Whitney Sudler-Smith seat him next to the Season 11 newcomer: “You’ve had a month to so-called consummate, at least kiss or whatever,” Shep said. “Craig, you’ve had your chance. Goodbye.”

By his account, Craig “didn’t like it one bit,” and even switched his seat at one point.

“It’s, like, funny to see Craig be a little on his toes all of a sudden,” Shep continued. “I love flirting. I mean, I wasn’t gonna do anything about it.”

Shep claimed that Charley even flirted back, describing them as both “being engaging” with each other.

Craig Conover and Charley Manley react to Shep Rose’s “flirting” confession

Elsewhere on the After Show, Craig and Charley shared their unfiltered reactions to Shep’s apparent flirting attempts in Mexico.

“Shep had convinced himself that he had a shot with Charley,” Craig said. “And everyone’s like, ‘Dude, she’s with Craig.'”

Separately, Charley chimed in, “Shep and I were, like, kiki-ing, like, on the end of the table. Like, we were just… staying out of [the drama].”

Later on, they split into two groups, with some of the cast choosing to ride ATVs and others going surfing. According to Craig, Shep also planned to “ask Charley out” during the surfing excursion. Charley, for her part, recalled Shep giving her extra attention while she learned how to ride some waves.

“I was in the water with the instructor, and then Shep’s, like, right there and he’s, like, trying to instruct instead of the instructor,” she said. “And I’m like, ‘I’m gonna listen to the instructor.’ … But Shep’s like, ‘No, do this, do this, do this.’ And I’m like, ‘I’m trying to listen to my frickin’ teacher.'”

Inside Shep Rose’s connection to Charley Manley

As you might recall, the Mexico trip was hardly Shep’s first attempt at pursuing Charley.

In fact, when Charley made her Southern Charm debut during the Episode 2 beach day, she revealed that Shep had been in her DMs that same morning.

“Every time he asks me, like, on a date, I just always never respond,” she told some of her new castmates.

In a confessional, Charley went on to explain that she had previously met Shep at a bar opening.

“And he slid into my DMs after that,” she added. “But it’s a little, you know, like you’re texting your dad a little bit.”

While appearing on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen a bit later in the season, Charley made similar comments about Shep.

“He reminds me of my dad,” she declared. “I don’t want to date my dad; I don’t want to. He’s a sweetheart though.”

As Shep continues to play the field, get an update on what’s happening in Charley and Craig’s budding romance on Southern Charm Season 11.
