Slain Maine Shooting Victims Include 3 Deaf Bargoers, Woman Who Tried to Call 911 & ‘Hero’ Manager – Crime Online

Six people have been indentified as among the 17 men and one woman killed on Thursday in two mass shootings in Maine.

Suspect Robert Card, 40, is wanted for allegedly opening fire at Just-In-Time Recreation bowling alley and Schemengees Bar and Grill in Lewiston. Only eight of the 18 victims have been identified — and among those are Joseph Walker, Bob Violette, 76, Tricia Asselin, 53,  Steven Vozzella and Bill Bracket, according to WCME.

CNN has since reported that Bryan MacFarlane, 40, was among those killed at Schemengees Bar.

McFarlane, Vozzella, and Bracket were attending a cornhole event for the deaf community at the bar, while Asselin was a part-time employee at the bowling alley who was bowling when she was killed. The Daily Mail reported that Violette taught bowling to children.

Asselin’s brother told CNN that Asselin was mortally wounded as she ran to a counter to call 911.

Walker was the manager of Schemengees Bar is. He is also the son of Auburn city councilor Leroy Walker, who spoke with the media as he awaited word regarding his then-missing son.

Since then, Leroy Walker told WGME that his son was gunned down as he tried to subdue the shooter.

“Picked up a butcher knife and went after the gunman to try and stop him from killing other people,” he said. “And that’s when he shot my son to death. He tried to save some more lives, and he ended up losing his life.”
