A Texas man is believed to have traveled to Washington, where he allegedly stalked a woman before killing her and her husband in a double-murder suicide.
Ramin Khodakaramrezaei, 38, reportedly broke into Zohreh and Mohammed Sadeghi’s home in Redmond and shot the couple. Zohreh’s mother escaped the home and called 911, according to KOMO, after the suspect allegedly broke into the residence through a window.
Cops who responded to the home reportedly found the Sadeghis fatally shot and Khodakaramrezaei dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Redmond police said Zohreh, 33, a podcaster, had filed a no-contact order against Khodakaramrezaei. Zohreh had been friends with Khodakaramrezaei, a listener, but she distanced herself after he bombarded her with messages, according to KOMO.
The news outlet reported that Khodakaramrezaei, who is from Texas, was never served the order as he was difficult to locate due to his work in trucking.
Redmond Police Chief Darrell Lowe revealed that detectives alerted him to the stalking case days before Friday’s shooting due. In the protective order, Zohreh alleged Khodakaramrezaei called her or left voicemails for her at least 10 times a week. She also claimed he messaged her husband at least 20 times a day, KOMO reported.
The Daily Mail reported that Zoreh also claimed Khodakaramrezaei came to her house with flowers and said he was going to have a band play outside her home. She recounted instances in which Khodakaramrezaei would park near the home to watch her.
“He has bursts of anger and is completely delusional,” she stated in the no-contact order. “These delusions make me fear for my life and the lives of my loved ones.”
According to the Daily Beast, Khodakaramrezaei broke into the victims’ home via an open window.
Khodakaramrezaei did not have a criminal record. Police are investigating whether he came to Washington with the sole purpose of killing Zohreh and her husband or if he just happened to be in the area.
