Stephanie Shojaee has set the record straight about her family business.
In Season 7, Episode 4 of The Real Housewives of Miami, Stephanie was introduced as a highly successful player in the South Florida real estate game. Stephanie confirmed her high-ranking position within the Shoma Group, a real estate development company led by her husband, Masoud Shojaee.
“There’s actually not many female real estate developers,” she told The Daily Dish in November 2024. “[My job], it’s actually buying the land, putting up a high rise, 800 units; or [building] rental communities and building a whole leasing team and developing units. There’s a lot. It’s a lot of fun.”
Stephanie Shojaee says she didn’t start Shoma Group, but “made it better”
While Stephanie has served as the company’s president since 2022, she said that there was a “misconception” about her history with the Shoma Group — specifically, her involvement with its formation.
“I think there was like a misconception online where people are thinking that I’m trying to take credit for that,” she recently told The Daily Dish, referring to the company’s founding. “I didn’t. My husband started it. I just made it better.”
Masoud started the Shoma Group in 1988, about 10 years after he immigrated to the United States from Iran. According to its website, the company has built more than 12,000 residential and commercial properties in the South Florida region, and has helped secure $6 billion worth of real estate transactions. Although Stephanie credited her hubby for starting the business, she insisted she played a big role in its more recent success.
“Everything I touch, I make it shinier and prettier, and that’s what I did to Shoma,” she explained.
