Steven McBee Jr. Shares Update on Steve Sr. at BravoCon 2025

The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys‘ Steven McBee Jr. shared a positive update on dad Steven McBee Sr.’s mindset following his recent prison sentencing.

During BravoCon 2025 Day 3’s “Bravo Bravo F’ing Bravo” panel in Las Vegas, a supportive fan asked Steven Jr. how his father was doing after a federal judge sentenced him to serve 24 months in prison on one count of federal crop insurance fraud in October. (The McBee Dynasty patriarch pleaded guilty to the crime in November 2024.)

“My dad is the most optimistic person we’ve ever met in our lives,” Steven Jr. answered in the above video, seated onstage alongside brothers Cole McBee and Jesse McBee. “The man was built to handle stressful situations. If anything, we’re more stressed out than he is.”

On Oct. 16, a U.S. District Court judge ordered Steve Sr. to self-surrender and begin serving his two-year prison sentence before December 1. He was further ordered to spend another two years on supervised release, in addition to paying just more than $4 million in restitution.

Prior to that, Steven Jr. further unpacked his heavy emotions on the matter in an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish, as the patriarch’s sentencing date approached, at the time.

Noting that he was feeling “scared, nervous, anything and everything,” he opened up by saying, “We love him so much, and love our family unit, so to picture him not being here with us for any amount of time … it’s scary.”

As Steven Jr. continued, “We’re focusing on the positive things we have going, of which there are so many, but I’d be lying if I said that black cloud hasn’t been hanging over us every second of every day since we first found out. … We know, no matter what, if we stick together as a family, we’ll make it through anything.”

How Steve McBee Sr. has been spending his final days before prison

Steve Sr. has also given fans a glimpse into his state of mind via social media.

The same day as he was sentenced, Steve Sr. posted an excerpt from Theodore Roosevelt’s 1910 “Man in the Arena” speech on Instagram and quoted William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar in the caption: “Cowards die many times before their deaths; the valiant never taste of death but once.”

Since then, his social media posts have largely shown him going about business as usual, post-sentencing, working on the family farm in Gallatin, Mo., visiting McBee’s Coffee N Carwash, cooking his favorite meals, and spending quality time with his pets and loved ones, including his two new grandchildren.

Steve Sr. was even keeping up with his sons’ first BravoCon appearance, sharing several video clips from their interviews to his Stories on Nov. 16.
