The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys‘ Steven McBee Jr. is finally ready to let brothers Jesse McBee and Cole McBee in on his long-held secret: Their father, Steven McBee Sr., has been under FBI investigation.
In a new preview for The McBee Dynasty‘s Season 2 finale (airing on Monday, September 1), Steven drops the bombshell that the government had allegedly been looking into their crop records from 2018 to 2020.
“We turned over everything that we had,” he reveals in the above clip. “It’s looking like there may be prison time involved.”
That’s when various news clips appear on screen announcing that Steve Sr. pleaded guilty to the alleged crimes in November 2024.Â
“My dad’s facing one count of giving a false statement on crop insurance, which is a felony, and the potential of up to 30 years in prison,” Steven Jr. explains to a producer.

Jesse, for his part, asks Steven Jr. if it is “just dad being looked at,” noting that all of their names are on the McBee Farm & Cattle Co. family business, which also encompasses their multiple carwashes.
After Steven Jr. confirms, “It’s just dad,” he also reveals that he’s known about the investigation for about a year, at that point.
“Part of me is just, like, scared to death right now,” Cole shares in a confessional. “This is the worst thing I’ve ever seen in my life.”
Before the clip ends, Steven Jr. adds one more piece of intel on his dad’s situation: “We’ve been going back and forth with the government. That man is under the most intense pressure I’ve ever seen in my life.”
When is Steve McBee Sr.’s sentencing?
Following his guilty plea, Steve Sr.’s sentencing is currently slated for September 9, 2025, according to DTN. A press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Western District of Missouri, confirmed that the McBee patriarch is facing up to 30 years in federal prison.
Who knew about the Steve McBee Sr. FBI investigation?
Though Steven Jr. kept his brothers in the dark for about a year, he was hardly the only cast member who knew about his father’s legal issues.
The McBee Farm & Cattle Co.’s CFO (and Steve Sr.’s ex-girlfriend), Galyna Saltkovska, first mentioned the FBI investigation on camera during Episode 3, prompting a panicked Steven Jr. to pull her into a closed-door meeting. A hot mic picked up audio of him telling Galyna that only she and his mom, Kristi McBee, knew what was going on, and asking her to keep it between them.

“My brothers don’t even know about it,” he eventually shared with a producer. “I don’t know if my dad’s gonna be in prison this time next year. I don’t know what’s going to happen.”
Later on, Steven Jr.’s on-and-off girlfriend, Calah Jackson, also claimed to a producer that he told her about the investigation and was “trying to stop [her] from talking about it” in front of his brothers.
“I have so much tea on this family. If I wanted to, I could bury them,” she warned in a confessional, following a heated argument in the Ozarks. “Trust me, there are secrets that they would not want to come out — although there might be one coming out pretty soon.”
