One student was stabbed to death and another injured in a fight Tuesday morning at a North Carolina high school.
Officials have not said what led to the fight or identified the two students involved in the fight, but they did call for the community not to “share, like, or comment” on videos of the deadly fight at North Forsyth High School in Winston-Salem, WXII reported.
“Whoever is sharing this video, liking this video, commenting on this video … please think about the insensitive nature of what you’re doing,” Winston-Salem Police Chief William Penn, Jr. said. “This isn’t the time to clout chase. Our students, our teachers all the staff at North Forsyth High School will need all of us as a community to come together to put an end to senseless violence.”
Officials locked down the school after the incident, which took place around 11 a.m., according to WFMY.
“Today is the worst nightmare of any educator. We hurt when our students hurt, and this is the ultimate hurt that we can possibly feel,” said Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools Superintendent Dr. Don Phipps.
Students told WFMY the fight took place in a school bathroom, but police have not confirmed that information.
Although no real information has been released about the stabbing or those involved in the fight, Forsyth County Sheriff Bobby F. Kimbrough Jr. said in video message that a student lost “his” life.
Kimbrough said more information would be released in time.
