It’s official: The Real Housewives of Orange County’s Tamra Judge has gone to the dark side.

The OC cast member took to her Instagram Stories on Sept. 16 to share her latest hair change-up, doing a little twirl to show off her long and slightly darker hue. In the short video clip, the oft-sunny blonde explained she was “slowly going darker” in shade, which comes as audiences continue to watch her on Season 19.
As seen in the clip, the color is darker at the top and lightens toward the ends, making it the very ombre color she has debated getting in years past. Tamra flaunted the new look in a tight, dark-brown tee and ombre-tinted sunglasses, a perfect aesthetic with September well underway.
She paired the post with a remake of The La’s’ song “There She Goes,” and thanked Dana Point-based hairdresser Jillian Cheel. Under the Instagram handle “Jillldoeshair,” the stylist called Tamra’s new hue “cool girl blonde,” to which Tamra jumped in the comment section to say she was “obsessed with the darker color.” The satisfied customer added a raised-hands emoji to emphasize her gratitude.
Tamra Judge has debated brown hair for a long time
The Two Ts In A Pod podcaster has toyed with the idea of darkening her hair for some time. In late 2019, Tamra had everyone on their toes when asking her IG followers if she should “go darker & shorter,” posting a snap of the inspirational ‘do. In the photo, a woman sported ombre-dyed beach waves, a look similar to the one Tamra has now.

Fast forward to January 2025, when Tamra wondered whether she should ring in the new year with a new look. In a January 7 Instagram post, she said, “Let’s do this 2025. After 5 weeks of being sick … I’m back and ready to go.” Added Tamra, “Question: Should I go brunette?”
Those in favor of Tamra going brunette included The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City‘s Angie Katsanevas, and those wanting her to stay blonde included The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Melissa Gorga.
Tamra Judge previously gave a sneak peek at a darker hair color
Fans got a little taster of how Tamra would look if going darker (at least temporarily) in the fall of last year, when she and Heather Dubrow switched hairstyles with fashionable wigs during the girls’ cast trip to the UK. Tamra captoined the Instagram post, “Who’s who?”
