Teddi Mellencamp Reveals Health Update: “No Detectable Cancer”

Teddi Mellencamp has an incredible update amid her cancer journey, but The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum warns that she still has quite the road ahead of her.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Peacock and Bravo.

“At this point, there is no detectable cancer,” Teddi, who has been battling Stage 4 cancer, said during the Oct. 3 episode of her podcast, Two Ts in a Pod.

The mother of three shared the “little life update” about her health journey with her guest host, Dolores Catania. Teddi has been transparent about her battle with cancer, which began with a melanoma diagnosis in 2022 before the cancer eventually metastasized to her brain and lungs.

An overjoyed Dolores wondered how she could continue the rest of the sit-down in light of the happy news, but Teddi emphasized the importance of managing expectations. She continued, “People think that just because the cancer’s gone, that I can’t still get sick or whatever, but I’m still in treatment.”

Teddi went on to note she will remain in immunotherapy treatment for another year.

When asked how her kids, 12-year-old daughter Slate, 11-year-old son Cruz, and 5-year-old daughter Dove — all of whom she shares with Edwin Arroyave — reacted to the health update, the former Housewife said it was the eldest who “really understands.”

Teddi Mellencamp opens up about her immunotherapy treatments

Teddi has cited immunotherapy as being one of the more grueling aspects of her physical battle, part of a dual approach combined with radiation to shrink the tumors throughout her body. As she told Extra TV in April, “I always thought radiation was the one that was going to kick my butt, but it’s been immunotherapy.”

In August, Teddi took to Instagram to talk about her “severe anxiety” that came with the treatment, asking “anybody who’s got through immunotherapy” if they experienced the same.

“Like today, I was able to walk, I did the podcast, and now I’m just sitting here full of anxiety,” she said. “Is this common? What are things that you guys have done to help make you feel better? Let me know. Looking for any positive advice.”

Teddi Mellencamp reflects on her prognosis amid cancer journey

Teddi’s uplifting news comes just over two months after predicting she’d conquer her 50/50 prognosis, so long as she “keep[s] fighting,” Teddi said on the Jamie Kern Lima Show podcast

She said, “I truly believe this when I say this — and it’s gonna make me emotional — I truly believe that I’m gonna live. I need to believe it. ‘Cause if not, it’s just too sad.”

What’s new in Teddi Mellencamp’s home life?

The C-word hasn’t stopped Teddi from living her best life on the home front. Recently, Edwin and their children, plus 15-year-old stepdaughter, Isabella Arroyave, kicked off a joyous celebration for “cuddle bug” Cruz’s 11th birthday.

What’s more, Teddi is staying active in the dating department. Following the July break-up with her “mystery man,” the RHOBH alum told Erika Jayne on her Diamonds in the Rough podcast that she was seeing a “good guy.”

Teddi cited steroids from her ongoing treatment behind why there was a boost in her sex drive when she met the unnamed man. Before, she was “a wild woman,” but over time, she became more “chill.”

“I’ve been on probably eight dates with this new person,” Teddi told Erika. “Not the young guy. You haven’t met him … He’s such a nice guy.”
