Teddi Mellencamp is sharing a look into her relationship with her 17-year-old stepdaughter, Bella Arroyave, amid her split from Edwin Arroyave. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum has been going through her divorce from Edwin for one year, but they still remain on good terms today.
Teddi took to Instagram on Nov. 30, where she posted two photos of herself and Bella. In the first, most recent photo with Bella, Teddi can be seen standing on a stage with the three children she shares with Edwin — daughters, Slate and Dove Arroyave, and son, Cruz. Teddi also posted a throwback photo of her and a much younger Bella in the carousel. She then took to the caption of the post, where she penned the sweetest tribute for her stepdaughter.Â
“When you first came into my life, you changed my heart and my world,” she wrote. “And now, as you turn 17, and seeing the intelligent, caring, confident woman you’ve become who continues to be an exceptional daughter, sister, and friend to all, I am prouder of you than ever and am always in your corner. Happy birthday, Bella!”

Edwin took to his Instagram account on Bella’s birthday, where he posted a video filled with photos of him with Bella and her half-siblings, taken over the past 17 years. He then took to the caption of the post, where he penned such kind words to his “sweetest blessing” on her birthday.

“17 years ago, I was given one of God’s greatest blessings: my daughter, Bella,” he wrote in the caption of the post. “Your pure heart, your inner light that matches the outer, your ambition and work ethic, your giant smile…every year I watch as you become an even more exceptional woman. And I could not be prouder. Happiest birthday, Bella. I love you!”

Teddi and Edwin have since put their divorce on hold amidst Teddi’s battle with cancer, but are seeing other people. She spoke with Extra in April, where she opened up about how they are raising the children during their split.Â

“We’re not together, but we put all the divorce stuff on hold because getting divorced is very stressful,” she admitted. “He’s a good guy, and we’re having a friendship, which is what we liked about each other in the first place, making each other laugh, and all those types of things, so I think it’s been really nice. We call it the divorce chronicles, where we just tease each other.”
