A Tennessee woman, her two children, and her grandmother were found shot to death early Friday in what police say was a triple murder-suicide.
Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis said deputies were called to the home for a welfare check and found the bodies, WKRN reported.
“I know the family,” Davis said during a press conference Friday afternoon. “We’re going to do right by them. We’re going to respect them, and we’re going to do right by them.”
Investigators believe 32-year-old Heather Thompson shot her two children — 13-year-old Isaiah Johnson and 4-year-old Arius Thompson — and her grandmother, 88-year-old Evelyn Johnson, before turning the gun on herself.
A neighbor told WKRN they heard gunshots earlier Friday morning, before police arrived.
