Texas Law School Professor Missing on North Georgia Hike – Crime Online

Police in North Georgia are searching for Texas law school professor who went missing while hiking near Nottely Falls and Blood Mountain.

Charles Hosch, 67, was last seen at the Byron Herbert Reece Trailhead in Union County on November 11, the Union County Sheriff’s Office said. He was wearing khaki pants, a caramel color sweater, and a dark green jacket.

“If you were near or on the Appalachian Trail/Mountain Crossing Store on the 11th and saw Charles, please let us know,” the sheriff’s office said.

According to KDFW, Hosch is an adjunct professor at Southern Methodist University’s Dedman Law School in Dallas.

“SMU is aware that Charles Hosch, an adjunct faculty member in the Dedman School of Law, was reported missing while hiking in Georgia,” the university said in a statement. “We are keeping his family and all who care about him in our thoughts and are grateful for the efforts of the agencies leading the search.”

The sheriff’s office asked anyone with information to contact the Emergency Operations Center at (706) 439-6091 or dial 911.
