PARKER COUNTY, Texas (TCN) — A 63-year-old woman stands accused of trying to purchase fentanyl so she could drug a box of candies and give them to her ex-husband after his recent engagement.
According to the Parker County Sheriff’s Office, Pamela Stanley allegedly planned to inject the drug into a high-end box of chocolates under the guise of a congratulatory gift and honeymoon incentive offer. In a recorded conversation, Stanley reportedly told an acquaintance about her plan.
Undercover investigators purportedly arranged to meet with Stanley, who allegedly drove from Coleman to a motel parking lot where she believed she would buy fentanyl. Instead, officials subsequently took Stanley into custody and reportedly found her to also be in possession of methamphetamine.
KXAS-TV identified Stanley’s ex-husband as Jeffrey Kauth, who told the news source, “We’ve been divorced since 2019, but she’s just been angry since.”
Kauth reportedly added, “It was a pretty ingenious plan. I would have probably ate the chocolates. My fiancée would have ate the chocolate, but even worse, we have two minor children here. I’m sure they would have eaten some as well, and she has no remorse.”
Stanley was indicted on July 10 of criminal solicitation with intent to commit murder, criminal attempt to commit murder, and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Her bond was set at $450,000.
