An investigation is underway in New Jersey after a 2-year-old boy reportedly died on Saturday when he fell from a window at an apartment building.
According to the Bergen Record, Newark police responded to reports of a child falling from a building’s 20th floor. Officers eventually located the boy, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
While announcing the incident, Essex County prosecutors did not disclosed how the boy may have fallen to his death. The toddler’s name has not been disclosed.
Law enforcement sources told WABC that they believe Saturday’s incident was an accident. An investigation is ongoing.
