An investigation into the child’s death is ongoing, police said, including an autopsy on the child. No further details about the condition of the child or a possible cause of death were provided by police.

In their press release, police stated that additional charges may be imminent pending their investigation and the results of the child’s autopsy. Local CBS affiliate WTTV reported that the Shelby County Coroner’s Office confirmed the autopsy for the child was scheduled for Friday.
