Tom Sandoval’s Update After America’s Got Talent Elimination

Tom Sandoval’s run on America’s Got Talent is officially over.

The Vanderpump Rules alum and his band, Tom Sandoval and the Most Extras, were eliminated from the competition series on Wednesday, August 20, after their polarizing performance of The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights.” Although the quarterfinals loss was undoubtedly disappointing, frontman Tom handled the defeat with grace and some very on-brand humor.

Tom Sandoval has a message for AGT judge Simon Cowell: “We get it, dude”

Shortly after the live elimination, the former SUR bartender took to Instagram to address the AGT loss and judge Simon Cowell’s harsh critique. He posted a video of himself and his family sitting at a restaurant as he mimicked the sound of the AGT buzzer, which the judges push when they’re displeased or unimpressed by a performance.

“Simon’s buzzer, it haunts me,” he said, causing his loved ones to laugh. “OK, Simon, we get it. We get it, dude.”

During the August 20 episode, Simon confessed he usually enjoyed watching the Most Extras, but their last performance left a lot to be desired.

“I like Tom and I like the band,” Simon said, per E! News. “However, you’re judging this performance, and it didn’t sound great. It didn’t. It might just be me from where I sat, but it didn’t sound good, I’m afraid.”

Tom and his band auditioned for AGT earlier this summer with a cover of “Take on Me” by A-Ha. The St. Louis, Missouri, native reflected on the experience in a June Instagram post, saying he was “so honored to be able to bring [his] band into such a cool and different experience.”

“I’m also thankful for the ones who came to support me and of course, all of my fans supporting us! Love y’all!!” he added.

What’s next for Tom Sandoval?

The Most Extras are now gearing up for a U.S. fall tour. The trek will begin on September 19 in Cedar Park, Texas, and will include stops in Indianapolis; Columbus, Ohio; Liverpool, New York; Roanoke, Virginia; and Key West.

After the tour, Tom will return to the small screen for House of Villains Season 3. He will be joined by Below Deck alum Kate Chastain, Tiffany “New York” Pollard (I Love New York), Paul Abrahamian (Big Brother), Tyson Apostol (The Challenge, Survivor), Jackie Christie (Basketball Wives), Drita D’Avanzo (Mob Wives), Plane Jane (RuPaul’s Drag Race), Johnny Middlebrooks (Love Island, The Challenge), Ashley Mitchell (The Challenge), and Christine Quinn (Selling Sunset). The competition series will premiere in early 2026.

“It was such a great experience,” Tom told Us Weekly about House of Villains. “I really was so pleasantly surprised. It might be one of my favorites yet. … In a show like House of Villains, you really have an opportunity to develop friendships and connections. I was in there making cocktails and it was a really cool environment.”
