Toya Bush-Harris’ marriage to Dr. Eugene Harris is still going strong today. The Married to Medicine cast member and her emergency medicine physician husband have been making their marriage stronger while both dealing with his long-distance work. And now, we’re getting updates on their relationship today.
Eugene, with Toya by his side, spoke with Entertainment Tonight at the Married to Medicine Season 12 premiere event. It was here where the doctor responded to claims that Toya has been working him “to the bone” to “get the lifestyle she wants.” But these comments didn’t faze the hardworking doctor, who has found the perfect harmony with his work-life balance today. “One, I like to work,” he said, with a smile on his face. “I went to med school to actually be a doctor. So, to go to med school, and to sit on the couch in Timberlands and boxers and play PlayStation, is not what I wanted to do. So I like to work. It’s what fulfills me, it’s what makes me happy.”
He admitted that this hard work is also for his own benefit. “I also have a lifestyle that I want,” he added with a laugh. “I have stuff, but I don’t have as much stuff as she does.”
What kind of doctor is Toya Bush-Harris’ husband, Eugene Harris?
Dr. Eugene Harris has worked in emergency rooms as an Emergency Medicine physician and has also worked as the Medical Director at other practices. He currently runs the Recharge Wellness. According to the website, he says he opened the facility “to help others reclaim vitality through personalized hormone replacement care, peptide therapy and weight-management programs. My approach blends evidence-based treatment with compassionate, patient-centered care, focused on real, sustainable results.”

He also revealed to the outlet that showing their marriage on Married to Medicine for the past 12 seasons has only strengthened their bond and relationship. “I think the best thing we’ve done, during our green screens [for confessionals], when we’re sitting on that couch, it’s therapeutic,” he explained.Â

“It is a weird marriage counseling session because we have to be honest with ourselves,” he continued. “Our honesty amongst each other is what has kept us married so long.”

During Married to Medicine Season 12, Episode 1, Eugene revealed that he has been traveling to two separate places within Georgia for work. “For the last six months, I am no longer working locally,” he explained in a confessional, as seen in the video above. “I’m doing it, yes, because I make a little more money. Actually, it’s a lot more money.”
But this has caused some strain on their relationship. “It better be,” Toya replied. “Because he’s gone a lot more.”

“Because of the distance, I do have to get a hotel room,” Eugene continued, before Toya remarked that she had been pleased with Eugene’s new paycheck.
“Instead of focusing on the days I’m working, focus on the days I’m not,” he added. “Because when I’m home, I’m home.”
