Toya Bush-Harris confirmed she will ring in Christmas without her husband, Dr. Eugene Harris. And, no, it isn’t because there’s trouble in paradise. The Married to Medicine physician simply opted to clock in more hours at work.
“So Eugene actually decided he’s gonna work Christmas morning because he wants to get extra money,” Toya told The Daily Dish before joking about her reaction. “I said that is so disrespectful towards God.”

Toya said she will instead spend her Christmas morning with other relatives, including her mom and great aunt.
“My great aunt is like my second mother, and we’re just gonna be in the kitchen and laughing and cooking,” she continued. “I’m OK with, you know, the girls’ moment.”
Toya will then close out the holiday with an intimate get-together at her family’s Atlanta-area home.
“I’m gonna have some people over in the evening,” she said. “We’re gonna do cute holiday espresso martinis and have someone setting up a cute S’mores board all along my countertop, and we’re gonna do S’mores all night.”

Toya Bush-Harris shows off her $1,200 Christmas tree: “The kids love it”
It’s no secret that Toya goes all out for the holidays. The Michigan native takes to Instagram every year to unveil her home’s festive decor, including a towering Christmas tree in her foyer. She showed off this year’s decorations in a home tour for Entertainment Tonight, saying her elaborate tree cost her roughly $1,200.
“We love Christmas,” she told the outlet. “We went to a farm, and they bring in the trees, they chop it right there in front of you, and they deliver the tree for you… I had it flocked powder blue. I love it. The kids love it.”
Toya said the tree itself was approximately $700, and the flocking was an extra $500. The video also showcased smaller Christmas trees around the $3 million home, as well as lush garland running across her grand staircase and sleek reindeer figurines in the formal dining room.

“Baby, the house is definitely a custom build,” she declared in the November 30 episode. “Everything from the type of wood, staining, to the design of the cabinets, to the wall, to the closet… The people thought I was gonna be renting forever, but no, no, no.”
Eugene applauded his wife for working so hard on their new home.
“Toya, you did an excellent job,” he said.
Toya Bush-Harris shares an update on her and Eugene Harris’ marriage
Elsewhere in the episode, the parents of two spoke candidly about Eugene’s hectic work schedule and the ways it affected their marriage.
“For the last six months, I am no longer working locally,” Eugene said in a confessional. “I’m doing it, yes, because I make a little more money. Actually, it’s a lot more money.”
“It better be,” Toya responded. “Because he’s gone a lot more.”
So, how are the husband and wife doing today? Well, Toya said they’re still going strong.
“We’ve been doing so well as a couple,” she told The Daily Dish. “Just our communication has been on point, we’ve been more cognizant of how to lift each other up as opposed to tear each other down.”
2025 will mark Toya’s first Christmas since the death of her family dog, Bailey. See how she paid tribute to the beloved pooch.
