The roller coaster of emotions between Southern Charm‘s Venita Aspen and Jarrett “JT” Thomas didn’t end after the Season 10 reunion.
In fact, as Venita described during the Southern Charm Season 11 premiere, which was filmed about four months later, their ambiguous relationship only continued to take sharper twists and turns.Â
As a quick refresher, despite some lingering drama (more on that below), the cast sitdown in New York City ended with Venita and JT on good terms. While JT noted to host Andy Cohen that he would like to “get the friendship back,” Venita admitted that she still wanted to date him. Backstage, they shared a friendly toast “as a truce,” as Venita put it, while a producer observed they seemed to be “flirting again.”

“After that moment in New York, JT came to my hotel room until about 5:30 a.m.,” Venita revealed in a confessional from Southern Charm‘s Nov. 19 episode. “He was just like, ‘I really want to be with you.’ So, after New York, I was really hoping that JT and I could maybe potentially date.”
“But he blocked me,” she continued. “And he just fell off the face of the earth.”Â

Also during Episode 1, Venita met up with Salley Carson to shop for outfits to wear to Madison LeCroy’s baby shower. As it turns out, they formed a close bond in the aftermath of Venita and JT’s post-reunion falling out.
“Salley has become my best friend,” Venita shared in a confessional, while, separately, Salley explained to a producer, “I helped her through a lot with the JT stuff.”

Salley continued, “I did not approve of JT and Venita’s relationship, just because, like, I knew the kind of guy he was, and I did not trust him. …Â I mean, she was heartbroken, and I saw her through that whole situation.”
As Venita told it, “Salley would not leave me alone for like three weeks there: ‘Oh my god, how are you feeling? Are you sad? Do you need to find a new man?’ And then, that turned into us hanging out every day, texting every day, FaceTime-ing every day. And, yeah, and now it’s just blossomed into this beautiful friendship.”
As both the premiere and Season 11 trailer already previewed, however, it remains to be seen how much Salley’s connection to Craig Conover will disrupt the growth of their sisterhood.

Previously, during Southern Charm Season 10, viewers watched onetime besties Venita and JT going back and forth over their relationship being platonic versus romantic. In the interim, questions also arose about JT’s relationship status. Roughly two months after the events of the finale, however, JT and Venita began dating.
Their romance was short-lived, though, and after they called it quits, Venita unfollowed JT on social media. Prior to the reunion filming in February 2025, they hadn’t spoken in more than three months.
While eventually hashing out their issues at the reunion, Venita denied JT’s claim that she “ghosted” him after they broke up, explaining that she had told him she simply needed some time to process the relationship’s demise. Regardless, just days after they stopped communicating, JT went Instagram official with a new girlfriend, igniting more animosity between them.

Amidst Venita’s off-camera drama with the woman he was seeing, JT described the whole situation as a “big miscommunication” and acknowledged the validity of her feeling “hurt.” As previously mentioned, the two ultimately decided they still cared a great deal for each other and decided to move forward with repairing their friendship at the end of the Season 10 reunion.
