It appears Vicki Gunvalson’s wish came true: Her son, Mike Wolfsmith, “finally” returned home just in time for the holidays.
The Real Housewives of Orange County mom shared the happy reunion on Instagram this week, more than a year after announcing Mike’s decision to move to Europe.
“He is finally home!!” she wrote in an Instagram Story.

The photo showed the mother and son at the Coto de Caza Golf and Racquet Club alongside Vicki’s boyfriend, Michael Smith. The trio snapped a few photos near a cluster of Christmas trees and then headed to the club’s Preserve restaurant for dinner.
“My mom’s country club,” Mike captioned a Story. “I need chicken before the gym!”
The group enjoyed a few glasses of wine, capris salad, burgers, and lamb chops, which Mike described as “amazing!”

Mike Wolfsmith shares his late dog’s “new spot” in Vicki Gunvalson’s home
After returning to Vicki’s longtime home, Mike highlighted a small glass console where Vicki displayed sentimental items and family photos. In between the frames was a small urn containing the ashes of Mike’s beloved dog, Walter, who died over the summer.
“Walter’s new spot,” he captioned the photo.
Mike also posted an amusing — but very sweet — painting of Walter cooking in a kitchen while dressed as a chef.
“Had this waiting at my mom’s from [Colin Brennan],” he wrote about the artwork. “[Hashtag] ChefWalt.”
Mike announced Walter’s death in a July 18 Instagram post, less than four months after the pug turned 15.
“Walter is gone. I knew this day would eventually come, but I’m still hit with immense sadness,” he wrote. “He was my best friend, and travel buddy. Countless road trips, airplanes, trains, boats, hotels, etc. Trips to Canada, Mexico, Europe, all over the US, and living in Hawaii. Multiple moves, multiple gf’s, and he was always the constant.”
He continued, “I know many of you loved Walter as well. He was such a good dog, and never did anything wrong, except maybe bark for my food. I will miss him so much.”

Shortly after Walter’s passing, Vicki and her beau, Michael, visited Mike in Spain. The RHOC cast member recounted the experience in the September 10 episode of My Friend, My Soulmate, My Podcast, saying the getaway was enjoyable but exhausting.

“I go, ‘I don’t know when I’m coming back,’” she recalled telling her son. “‘When are you coming home?’ He’s like, ‘I am home.’ I’m, like, ‘No, son. This is not home. You gotta come back.’ And it was sad because Walter was not there.”
