Vince McMahon ‘pushed’ for Brock Lesnar to take on Omos at this year’s WrestleMania

[ad_1]

Vince McMahon is the person responsible for pushing to have Brock Lesnar take on Omos at next month’s WrestleMania, according to reports.

McMahon had stepped down as head of creative in July 2022, after announcing his shocking retirement from the company, amid allegations against the WWE chairman.

However, the 77-year-old returned to the company his family has owned for over forty years, in January, believing to be in part to help facilitate a sale of WWE later this year.

Current head of creative and son-in-law Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque had previously stated that McMahon wouldn’t have a say in current storylines, but it appears he has had a major influence on this year’s WrestleMania card.

According to WrestleVotes, it was the idea of McMahon to push for a match-up between Brock Lesnar and Omos, which had been added to WWE’s biggest event of the year.

In a tweet the account stated:’ I’m told the highly anticipated, very compelling Brock Lesnar vs Omos WrestleMania matchup was the idea of one specific, powerful person who pushed it through.’ Alongside a GIF of McMahon gleefully putting on a pair of sunglasses.

The clash between the former multi-time WWE champion and 7ft 3′ giant Omos was made official on this past week’s Monday Night Raw, however, it’s a bout that has taken fans by surprise.

Lesnar has a long established legacy at WrestleMania, from being the first Superstar to defeat the Undertaker on WWE’s grandest stage in 2014, as well an main eventing last year’s show against Roman Reigns.

Omos on the other hand, is a relatively new name on the WWE scene and a match against Lesnar would present the biggest bout of the Nigerian’s career so far.
