His in-character story is that he is a Mafia boss who was transported from the past to the future due to a misunderstanding. A man with a short temper, Kaneshiro saw a man assaulting another person and tried to intervene.
While doing so, he noticed that the victim had left his bag and run away, so he followed the victim but found that he was a thief and had stolen the bag. A police detective chasing the man down saw Luca with the bag and accused him of being the thief.
While he was then chased by the police detective but somehow, both Luca and the detective were then transported to the present day.

Luca Kaneshiro may be a character without a real face but the man behind it has played others too. Before Luca Kaneshiro there was Joseph.
Joseph is a character in the famed Youtuber XQC’s GTAV roleplay. His full name is Joseph Yorinobu.
The gaming YouTuber XQC is famous for his GTAV online roleplay, where he created his own character, Jean-Paul, and then crafted an entire story based on that character. In the story, Jean Paul is a criminal mastermind trying to take over the city of Los Santos while going by the alias X.
This is where Joseph comes in, as he is one of Jean Paul’s few allies. Based on the character of Goro Majima from the video game series Yakuza, Joseph Yorinobu is a mentally unhinged member of the Yakuza who came to Los Santos with his associate and rival Kazuma Kiryu to purchase fast cars to bring back to the Yakuza clan back in Japan.
In a curious twist of events, Joseph missed his flight when he went on a taco binge, during which time Kiryu took the chance to leave him behind to bolster his own standing within the Yakuza.
Now, stranded in a foreign country’s most dangerous city filled with crime, criminals, and everything seedy, Joseph barely survives by finding a job at Burger Shot, a fast food restaurant. Unfortunately, he finds himself back in a life of crime as he is already accustomed to it.

His new-found goal then is to gather enough gang members so he can establish his own branch of the Yakuza clan in Los Santos called the Dragon Six.
The character of Joseph was a huge success in XQC’s Jean Paul roleplay, and when he suddenly disappeared, many of XQC’s fans were concerned. There was even a Reddit thread concerning the disappearance of the character.
The Reddit thread revealed that the man behind Joseph was a Twitch streamer named javaaaa, who left to become a VTuber.

Luca Kaneshiro real face is unknown but the identity behind the mask has become clear. Luca Kaneshiro was once a streamer called javaaaa.
javaaaa was a popular streamer with over 30K followers on Twitch. He had made a name for himself by streaming various roleplay games like GTAV with popular YouTubers like XQC and Penguinz0.
He became most popular for his roleplay as Joseph in XQC’s GTAV Online Roleplay. Their most popular video together is one titled “xqc & Joseph Bizzare Adventure.” Despite his connections to many popular YouTubers, javaaaa was an accomplished streamer too, but much of his back catalogs have long since been deleted.
His disappearance from regular streaming was first noticed by fans of XQC, who realized that he wasn’t showing up on many of XQC’s videos. Soon enough, people started noticing that he hadn’t been streaming in his channel for some days, and then suddenly, all the saved streams also disappeared.
Now, the only javaaaa videos that exist are those in XQC’s channel and some on penguinz0’s, as well as some offshoots recorded and saved in the Twitch backlogs channel. In essence, javaaaa as a streamer and online entity has completely disappeared.
The story didn’t end there because javaaaa was known for one thing above all else, his eclectic and recognizable voice. So, when Luca Kaneshiro made his debut, a lot of his fans started putting two and two together.
It was a slow process, and not many people know if javaaaa and Kaneshiro are the same people behind the mask, but the voice is undeniable. Also, Kaneshiro popped up around the same time that javaaaa disappeared from the internet.
He may be the more popular entity now, but a small fraction of javaaaa’s fanbase still misses the streamer and hopes he will come back soon.
Nijisanji En’s Luca Kaneshiro Finally Breaks 900k YouTube Subscribers
Luca Kaneshiro is a hugely successful Vtuber and has amassed over 900K subscribers on YouTube. Luca Kaneshiro is a member of the Luxiem.
Despite the small number of fans bemoaning javaaaa’s disappearance, the vast majority of the Vtuber community has long since accepted Luca Kaneshiro. Kaneshiro made his debut on December 20, 2021 as part of the Luxiem wave of Nijisanji EN.
Nijisanji EN itself is the English language branch of the Vtuber company Nijisanji Project. They first focused their crossover by translating Japanese Vtubers, then created English language Vtubers that acted much like the Japanese Vtubers.
The first wave of these Vtubers was called LazuLight, the second called Obsydia, and the third was called Ethyria. Nijisanji EN started developing lore surrounding these waves with LazuLight being the light brigade, Obsydia being the dark counterpart to LazuLight, and Ethyria having four members with two associated with heaven and two associated with hell.
Due to the success of all three waves, Nijisanji EN decided to incorporate male Vtubers to their story. This is where Luca Kaneshiro came into the picture alongside other male Vtubers like Shu Yamino, Ike Eveland, Mysta Rias, and Vox Auma.
Nijisanji created lore around all of these characters with some of their lore combined such as Mysta Rias being the detective who almost daughter Luca Kaneshrio. The success of the Luxiem wave caused Nijisanji to create more male Vtubers such as Noctyx as a counterpart to Luxiem.
Kaneshiro’s success is much in line with Nijisanji En’s success, which in turn depends on the characters and the stories they are creating. So, it’s not likely that Kaneshiro, or javaaaa’s real face will be seen anytime soon.
