Police in Georgia are investigating the disappearance of a “well-known” dentist who hasn’t been seen since Monday.
Melanie Nadler Litt, 52, was last seen leaving work Monday, at a West Cobb dental practice on Villa Rica Way in Marietta. When she failed to show up to work Tuesday at the Family Dentistry at Seven Hills in Dallas, her coworkers called law enforcement for a welfare check, according to FOX 5.
Police checked Litt’s Marietta home after gaining permission from her husband, Lesley Litt, to enter, since no one was there at the time.
Cobb County police found a work bag near the home’s entrance, along with Litt’s powered-off cellphone. They did not locate her vehicle or wallet at the home during their investigation.
They also did not notice any signs of foul play, according to ANF.
The husband later arrived at the residence from the airport and told police nothing appeared to be missing. Lesley told FOX 5 that he was visiting their son at college in a different state at the time of her disappearance.
“We all want to see her home and safe, and we love her dearly,” he said.
A friend, Carolyn Watson Patt, had similar feelings on Litt’s appearance.
“That’s completely out of character for her, completely,” she said. “She has a whole village of people who love her. We’re worried 24/7 right now.”
Litt’s friends said police later located her vehicle abandoned in a “large parking lot” on Barrett Parkway in Cobb County, according to ANF.
Litt is described as a white female who stands 5 feet, 1 inch tall, with blonde hair and blue eyes.
If you have any information about Litt or her whereabouts, you are encouraged to contact the Cobb County Police Department at (770) 499-3900, or dial 911.
