A West Virginia man stand accused of gunning down his wife on their front porch and leaving her body where she fell, covered by a blanket.
The Mingo County Sheriff’s Office said it was called to the home for a welfare check Friday morning at about 10 a.m. and found the body of Christina Hunt on the porch. Her husband, Leroy Hunt, held investigators to a “brief standoff” before surrendering “without incident.”
“The investigation indicates that Leroy Hunt allegedly murdered his wife, Christina Hunt, as she was entering their residence,” the sheriff’s office said. “Their two-year-old child was inside the home at the time of the incident.”
According to Law&Crime, a neighbor requested the welfare check.
Hunt has been charged with first degree murder and child neglect creating substantial risk of serious injury or death, the sheriff’s office said.
It’s not clear where the toddler is now.
