Kyle Cooke keeps himself very busy. The Summer House cast member is not only the founder of Loverboy, but he’s also a DJ who travels all across the nation playing music for partygoers everywhere. But his career has been such a “journey” for him and continues to be to this day.
Kyle appeared on a panel at 92nd Street Y on Wednesday, Jan. 28, where he shared some major updates on his alcoholic spritz brand and how it has impacted his life. “It has been an absolute journey,” he said in a video from the event, posted to Instagram. “I went from like, speaking at all the industry conventions, because we were one of the fastest growing brands, to having some real challenges,” he explained of his work at Loverboy.
“And I think that was part of the stress last year,” he continued. “It continues to be a huge source of stress just because [the] beverage [industry] is not easy. Beverage alcohol is not easy because you have all of the regulations to think about…But right now, we’re just hoping people continue to support the brand as we kind of transition and pivot a little bit.”
“But, it’s not easy. And you’ll see, it really got the best of me,” he concluded.
Does Kyle Cooke still own Loverboy?

Kyle spoke with Hampton in May 2025, where he opened up about what he was doing before starting Loverboy. “I was originally working on a nutrition coaching app, focused on 1:1 coaching,” he explained. “In 2015/16, people were starting to realize that 90 percent of reaching your health goals is nutrition. I saw how much money people were spending on gym memberships while completely neglecting their nutrition. That’s what led me to launch the app.”

His background in nutrition led him to come up with the idea of Loverboy, a “zero-sugar beverage that actually tasted good.” “But at its core, Loverboy is a lifestyle brand — it’s about having fun and not taking yourself too seriously, while also caring about the quality ingredients in what you’re drinking,” he added.
