When it comes to Below Deck Mediterranean’s Aesha Scott’s feelings toward Captain Sandy Yawn, the mega yacht boss is “The Queen of the Seas(on).” That’s what the New Zealander wrote on a Feb. 3 Instagram post celebrating their friendship.
Aesha, who started working under Sandy in Season 4, gushed about their working relationship and shared some of their most celebrated moments above and below deck. She not only praised Captain Sandy for giving her the space and support to grow into the role of Chief Stew over the years, but also gave thanks for “a beautiful friendship which I treasure so much.”
“What you don’t see on TV, because episodes are short and our work days are long, are the little moments I sometimes get between tasks,” Aesha revealed. “Where the guests might be taking forever to wake up, or I have two minutes [to] spare between vacuuming rooms, and every single time I choose to quickly run up to the bridge to hang with Sandy.”
A wearer of many caps, Aesha noted, Sandy could be “the most wise person you’ve ever known,” “the most hilarious goofball,” or just an overall “badass.” “Truly a captain to admire,” Aesha continued. “And to show women we can be whatever we want to be, all done with grace, patience, and fairness.”
Aesha Scott calls Below Deck Mediterranean Season 10 her “favorite” one yet
Elsewhere on Instagram, Aesha expressed her gratitude for the most recent Season 10, calling it her “favorite season so far” for Below Deck Med. She gave special shoutouts to Stews Kizzi Kitchener and Cathy Skinner, for their hard work, and to Chef Josh Bingham, “the most talented, devoted, and chill sidekick and chef.”

She went on to thank those working behind the cameras. “For this to work, and work so well, we need every single person to put their heart and soul into this,” Aesha stated. “We barely sleep, we barely rest, we miss out loved ones back home … Yes, we choose it, and we love it, but I want to express my gratitude to every single person that makes this dream possible.”

Aesha has her work cut out for her back on the mainland. Not only is she “most excited” to marry the love of her life, Scott Dobson, in March of this year, but she’s “hopeful” that her alcoholic coconut water brand, DROP, will make its splash in the States sometime soon.

Looking back on Season 10, she told The Daily Dish there was one thing she might have changed. “The only part I would change would be keeping Max [Salvador] from seeing Cathy when her stepdad passed,” she revealed. “I genuinely thought at the time she’d prefer space to process it, but seeing how she reacted to seeing Max when she finally saw him, I realize that judgment was wrong. And worse still was that Nathan [Gallagher] got a lot of the blame for that, when it was clearly my call.”
Wondering how much the crew made by the end of the charter season? Well, they had a six-figure total in tips to prove it.
