Liz McGraw and Kelsey Swanson’s friendship may have been on the rocks after their heated argument on The Real Housewives of Rhode Island, but it appears that the two have weathered the storm and are on much better terms today.
On the heels of their expletive-filled clash at the end of Episode 3, Liz and Kelsey shared a few laughs while unpacking the drama on The Real Housewives of Rhode Island After Show — even if they still didn’t quite see eye to eye about how everything went down.
Kelsey’s use of the word “ongoing” while referring to rumors that Liz had an affair with her best friend Dino was what the latter said had set her off during husband Gerry McGraw’s Studio 54-themed birthday party at their home. “The ongoing what, Kelsey?!” Liz asked again on the RHORI After Show.

The two went on to joke about the fact Liz had been “eating a piece of cake on the ground” prior to the blowup that sparked after Liz announced that she wanted a moment “under the moonlight” with Gerry and her “best friend” Dino, in Kelsey’s words.
“Friends, plural,” Liz corrected her. “Not just the three of us.”

Semantics aside, when Liz shared her desire to sneak away to the sea wall on RHORI, Kelsey had only begun saying, “I think because of the… ongoing… s–t…” before she cut her off. Either way, Kelsey insisted that the whole conflict was largely the result of a misunderstanding.
“If I was able to finish the sentence, you would’ve understood where I was coming from,” she claimed.
As Liz saw it, however, “But you weren’t finishing, because I asked you 12 times. Like, ongoing what? Ongoing what?”

Reasoning that Liz had “stormed off,” before she could clarify her statement, Kelsey concluded their After Show discussion by saying, “It was just hectic in that moment that we couldn’t get to the bottom of what I meant.”
That could explain why Kelsey initially was so confused by Liz’s anger amid what was otherwise a friendly conversation. After Liz abruptly walked away from her, dropping F-bombs along the way, Kelsey had even said aloud, “She took something wrong.”
Why Liz McGraw was “mad” at Kelsey Swanson on RHORI
At the end of RHORI‘s April 12 episode, Kelsey followed Liz inside, where they had an off-camera conversation (that viewers still heard, thanks to their hot mics) about why the latter was so “mad” at her.
“I wanted to be at the sea wall with my husband and my best friends,” a fired-up Liz explained. “And you went, ‘Oh, I think not Dino ’cause the ongoing…’ I don’t have an ongoing. It’s all lies. I have nothing to hide. Maybe you do, but I don’t. ‘Because of the ongoing.’ Maybe you have the ongoing, not me. F–k off.”
Kelsey, meanwhile, asked a second time, “Why are you mad at me?!” but, instead of elaborating, Liz simply fired back, “You got more to hide than I do. How about that?”
Liz shed more light on the matter in a confessional, however. “The way Kelsey just stood up tall and said this to me about this ongoing, it just rubbed me the wrong f–king way,” she said. “She was trying to distance her own story with Dino by pointing the finger at me.”
When a producer asked, “How does Kelsey know Dino?” Liz simply replied, “That’s a great question. Well, you’d actually have to ask Kelsey that.”
In the midst of their dustup, Jo-Ellen Tiberi and Alicia Carmody had also entered the bedroom to assess the situation, but Kelsey immediately shouted for them to leave. As Alicia remarked in an interview afterward, “I have never seen Liz and Kelsey fight. Don’t f–k with Hurricane Liz.”
