Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition has officially begun!
The show kicked off on Bravo on Tuesday, Oct. 21, with The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast member Angie Katsanevas traveling to Challis, Idaho, where she lived “off-grid” with the Flake family.
In the premiere episode, Angie found herself swapping lives with Idaho mom of three Lindsay Flake, living 30 minutes outside of town without running water. The hair stylist and mom of a teenager found herself reconnecting with nature, caring for the Flake children, and doing some serious chores around the farm.Â
Lindsay, on the other hand, found herself cleaning up the house while Angie’s husband, Shawn Trujillo, and her daughter, Elektra, relaxed on the couch and watched TV. But, she also got to indulge in their luxurious life in Utah by working out with Shawn and enjoying the luxuries of their home.
At the end of the episode, Angie noted that her time with the Flake family was a “blessing.” Lindsay, who was happy to get back to living off grid and being with her family, was also happy to allow Angie to experience something new.

The premiere episode of Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition aired on Oct. 21 on Bravo, and is now streaming on Peacock. Episode 2, featuring Melissa, will air on Bravo on Oct. 28 at 9 p.m. ET/PT; Episode 3, featuring Emily, will air Nov.4 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo; and Episode 4, featuring Wendy, will air Nov. 9 at at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo. All episodes will be available the next day on Peacock.Â
What happens on Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition?
Each episode follows a Real Housewife and “real wife” as they “navigate swapping their everyday comforts and luxuries to fully immerse themselves in a vastly different familial experience,” according to the show announcement.
“Through unexpected conflicts, eye-opening moments and emotional breakthroughs, the journey challenges everything they thought they knew about themselves and the world around them,” the announcement continues. “Through this process, the Real Housewives will question if they can appreciate the lives they left behind and conversely, the real wives will question whether the aspirational lives showcased on reality TV are truly as glamorous as they appear.”
Angie Katsanevas reflects on her time with the Flake family during Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition
Angie took to Instagram on Oct. 22, where she reflected on her “life-changing” time with the Flake family. The mom of one revealed that she had watched the premiere episode in Utah with RHOSLC cast members Heather Gay and Mary Cosby, along with Lindsay Flake, her husband, and their three kids.

“Reuniting with my swap family ‘on grid’ to watch our episode together,” she wrote in the caption of the post. “My time with the Flake family was transformative, pure, and full of love. Fate brought our families together. I gained a whole new perspective on life off grid. Stepping into another woman’s shoes doing her chores, loving her family was a gift that transformed me. While Angie K is back on the grid, I will never forget my time in Challis, Idaho…or my new forever family. I went in overdressed and underprepared and came out a better person. Thank you [Bravo and Andy Cohen] for a life-changing experience.”
Prior to the episode airing, Angie told The Daily Dish she was excited for the world to “see a different side” of her.Â
“Thank god I was raised by an immigrant who lived in a similar situation to where I was staying,” she said. “I was raised to work hard, I was raised to say yes to all opportunity, I was raised to get out there and do whatever I have to do. I’ve had a lot of hardships in my life, so I’m no stranger to hard work and I think that saved me.”
Andy Cohen makes a declaration about Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition
During a Sept. 16 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, host Andy Cohen made a bold declaration about the limited series. “I cannot wait for Housewives Wife Swap,” he declared, with Angie as his guest on the show. “This show is blowing me away.”

Angie also offered her own take on the experience during her time on the series. “It’s an incredible, life-changing experience,” she admitted. “I bonded with the children, I bonded with the family. It was amazing. I don’t know what else to say.”
Angie Katsanevas reveals the practice she kept from Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition
Although Angie hasn’t found herself living off the grid since her time swapping lives, she did admit to The Daily Dish that she did learn a few things.
“It was great to have that perspective on another woman’s life and the simplicity of life versus some of the ways in which I live at home,” she said. “It just reminded me of the little that we need, what’s really important, and that’s family. I know all of that, of course, but to do it so simply was really special.”
She even “made use” of the garden that Lindsay, Shawn, and Elektra built in her backyard during the episode. But, she “still has her olive oil shipped from Greece every month.”
