Whitney Rose has been so open about her career challenges during The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 6 — and now, she’s sharing how her husband Justin Rose, as well as Lisa Barlow, got her through the “hardest” time of her life during RHOSLC Season 3.

Whitney spoke with Us Weekly in an interview published on Oct. 15, where she admitted to going through a hard time during the cast trip to Arizona when she was fighting with her third cousin, Heather Gay (more on that down below). “I really dislike watching when Heather and I fight in lingerie in Arizona,” she explained. “That was so hard. I was so intoxicated, I was so emotional. I’d just shared with the group that I was processing some trauma from my childhood, and my best friend and I got into a fight, and that was terrifying.”
“It was the hardest season of my life, because Heather and I were at odds, and I didn’t have my girl, and Lisa stepped up and filled that role for me because I didn’t have Heather,” she continued.
Ultimately, things took a turn when she found out that Justin had lost his job. “I was actually going to quit and send my email to Bravo, and Justin literally pulled up next to me in the car and said, ‘I got fired,’ so I couldn’t quit,” she noted.

This was, understandably, hard for Whitney. But, Lisa continued to support her during this hard time and encouraged her to stay on RHOSLC.

“I didn’t feel like I could, emotionally, mentally do it with what I was processing in my life and the therapy I was going through,” she admitted. “But I had to step up for my family and stay, and Lisa was actually the one that convinced me I could do this.”
What happened between Whitney Rose and Heather Gay during RHOSLC Season 3?
The mom of two had been fighting with her third cousin after they had a disagreement over rumors surrounding Lisa. At the time, Heather denied remembering hearing a rumor about Lisa, which made Whitney accuse her of not having her back. Heather then accused Whitney of making the trip all about her.
The women continued to fight throughout RHOSLC Season 3, with Heather kicking her out of her home during Episode 7. But, they have since made up, and according to an official announcement for RHOSLC Season 6, Heather and Whitney are “as strong as ever.”

Justin’s job loss in Season 3 has continued to have an impact on Whitney. She opened up about her marital issues during RHOSLC Season 6, Episode 5, where she admitted that the failure of her business, Wild Rose Beauty, hurt her relationship with Justin. She further admitted that she felt regret over the fact that the “really fun, wild, and free-spirited Whitney” had “led to Justin losing his job” during RHOSLC Season 3.
“That hit me at such a deep level that I felt like I had to change that part of me, to conform to who I thought Whitney had to be,” she said during RHOSLC Season 6, Episode 5. “And in the end, I ended up losing it all anyways, so we’re getting back to being the fun, free-spirited, loving, wild, sexy, Whitney that I am.”
